"Elsa! Another nightmare, I guess", Fiona, the family's maid and Elsa's favourite said kindly with a soft smile on her face.
"Why? Why did you wake me up, Fiona?", Elsa asked immediately coldly.
Her question didn't surprise the maid at all because it was a usual question that came up after she would jerk Elsa from sleep every morning.
As much as the incident was becoming a consistent routine to the Alpha's first child, it was still a troubling moment for her.
"Well, it seems like this nightmare is beginning to take peaceful sleep away from you and replacing it with nightmares", Fiona said, while handing the Princess a piece of cloth to wipe her sweaty body.
Elsa wasn't interested in that. She tossed the cloth away immediately,. while glaring hard at Fiona.
"How many times have I told you that you shouldn't call them nightmares but dreams?", she questioned.
Fiona smiled sweetly at the Princess, who had been more of a friend to her than anyone else, as they were born in the same year.
While Elsa was born into a royal family, Fiona was unfortunate to be abandoned in front of the gates of Greyhood Kingdom.
But fortunately enough, Luna Patrice was the one who saw her first and so asked that she be cared for by the older Werewolves till she was old enough.
Since there was no one who stepped forward to claim the young lad, Fiona was allowed to work for the royal family.
And that was how, the bond between Fiona and Elsa grew, every passing day.
Fiona walked closer to where Elsa was in bed, "Well,. dreams don't make sleep most troublesome for hosts", she answered.
"They are mine and not yours!", Elsa insisted.
Fiona nodded slowly with a soft smile, spread across her lips. She understood how Elsa felt after these nightmares.
"I understand", she managed to say.
"No, you don't! You just interrupted", Elsa fired back with her eyes reddening with anger.
"You seemed to be slowly getting lost in there and I had to do something. I couldn't just watch you die", Fiona tried to explain empathetically.
"Die..? Isn't that such a strong and unbelievable word for you, Fiona? How can one die in their dream?", Elsa chuckled dryly.
"Except it wasn't a dream but a nightmare!", Fiona insisted.
"And who are you to tell me what's what in my life? Last time, I checked you had no such right or did I miss something while I was sleeping?", Elsa roared angrily.
Fiona gasped softly at the Princess. It was quite usual for Elsa to be angry and bitter after she woke from her nightmares.
But that was too much than she can handle. Elsa was getting more wild than the last nightmare and it was scary.
The last thing she wanted was to be engaged in an early morning banter with the favourite Royal in the Dome.
"I apologize sincerely, Princess. It won't happen again", Fiona said remorsefully while bowing before Elsa.
With that, she stood to her feet and walked over to the windows to get them open and clean up the Princess' chambers.
Elsa held her forehead tightly and breathed out. She didn't like it when she snapped angrily at Fiona because she actually liked her.
Apart from being one of the Omegas in the Omega, Fiona had become her friend too. So treating her less wasn't exactly what she loved to do.
Her countenance changed and she lowered her head slowly, tracing the lines on her palms.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to sound that way", Elsa apologised.
Immediately, Fiona turned to her and flashed her a reassuring smile. She always knew that out of all the Alpha's children, Elsa was the different one.
"There's no need to be. Anyone who is in your shoes right now, will react just the same", the maid reassured.
"But why me? Why would these dreams keep reoccurring every single time? Why am I different?", Elsa cried out.
Then she looked up at Fiona, searching through her eyes hopefully. "I think it's a sign or has a deeper meaning ", she added.
Fiona breathed out softly. "These nightmares... sorry... dreams", she corrected hastily, hoping not to incur Elsa's wrath.
"What if they actually don't mean anything. What if it's just a figment of your imagination?", she continued.
"But why? It's been consistent for so long now", Elsa interjected.
"It's been over eight months", Fiona confirmed.
"Eight months of sleepless nights, sweaty nights and screams. I feel for you Princess and I'm beginning to think that maybe it's the right time to take Luna's advice ", she advised.
"What...? Take the Luna who actually hates my guts? Well played, Fiona!", Elsa retorted angrily.
Elsa was just two years old when her mother passed away during the dark war, which claimed the lives of other werewolves.
It was hard on the Kingdom and particularly hard on the Alpha, who had to wean a young baby of two years old and run the kingdom which was going through a tough phase.
His closest allies advised that he should take another wife, so the pressure on him would be lightened and he did just that.
Luna Devine could be said to be a wife to Alpha Zed but the same couldn't be said to be a good mother to Elsa.
They never saw eye to eye and that caused some friction for everyone in the Dome.
"I know that what I'm saying sounds crazy but look at it! It seems to be the only way because these nights...dreams, are completely draining you by the day", Fiona explained.
"Not this time, Fiona. I was so close to getting the know why I have these dreams. He almost told me until you woke me up", Elsa defended.
"As you had said the last time and then nights before that. This is taking away your shine, Princess. Can't you see that?", Fiona replied.
Elsa lowered her head and sobbed gently. She couldn't understand what was happening to her, as every time, she had these dreams, something changed in her.
Slowly, she lifted up her head and stared deep into Fiona's eyes.
"What do you think I should do then?", she asked.
"Let them go! They're of no use! It's nothing. They're of no significance at all", Fiona replied, shattering her hopes completely.
