Chapter 3: A Stepmother's Hassle!

1005 Words
Elsa spent a couple of hours in her bedroom, after Fiona left, trying to ascertain what the dream meant. Every time that she was so close to getting the answer from the strange figure, nothing seemed to work. It was the same old pattern and that scared her to bits because could feel her spirit tugging in her deeply. What was worse, was the fact that after these dreams, her wolf would feel very weak and hard to summon. As the cold water rolled down her body, Elsa could barely feel anything. Her mind was far-fetched and it hurt her. Why did the figure have to stop at the same spot and say the same words without saying anything meaningful? The cold shower didn't help her either, so Elsa quickly finished from the bathroom and got dressed. Perhaps, going through her morning chores would help take the weight off her body and ease her mind. After getting dressed, Elsa pulled the door knob of her bedroom and stepped out, trying her best to keep her jovial spirit on. If there was anything that could be said about her, it was the fact that she was the most jovial and sweetest personality in the kingdom. Anyone felt comfortable around her and it was said that she had the personality of her late mother, who was the people's favourite and the guts of her father, the Alpha. "Good morning!", she said cheerfully, to the staff nearby as she walked down the long walls of the Dome. Elsa was headed straight to the kitchen to make breakfast for herself and also brew tea for her father. It pleased her to make that and personally, she hid the secret from everyone, including her stepmother. Nobody made the best tea and her father could only taste her tea. That pissed her stepmother greatly but she didn't care. As soon as she opened the door, her smiling face was replaced with a tight grin in an obvious way. "If it isn't the people's royalty!", a voice rang sarcastically. "Good morning.!", Elsa said coldly, while rolling her eyes dramatically. "Oh please. That's no way to greet Luna and your mother, Princess! I thought you knew better", Luna Devine replied immediately with a scowl on her heavily made up face. "Isn't it too early for makeup? I thought you would be...", Elsa tried to change the topic, while taking a sub at the Luna. Luna Devine got furious at Elsa's remark, especially as other attendants were present in the kitchen. She looked around and the entire staff in the kitchen lowered their heads quickly, and avoided her glance while they scurried out. Elsa acted like she didn't know why they hurried off. "Um...do you know why they all left? Anyways, I don't need them right now", she asked aloud. "Elsa!", Luna Devine thundered. "Huh ..? You know I can hear you right? You don't need to scream. I'm just standing right here", Elsa muttered softly. "That's no where to speak to Luna and your mother ", Luna warned angrily. Her eyes darkened and her aura changed the environment. Luna's anger was quite strong and she had a reputation for a foul temper. "Okay. I don't think that calls for you to go all dramatic, right? Easy with the chills", Elsa said, fueling her anger more. "Elsa! Did you not hear a word I just said?", Luna fired angrily. "Oh that? I heard clearly but you made a mistake. You may be the Luna but definitely not your daughter ", Elsa replied nonchalantly. "How dare you speak to me in that manner?", the Luna retorted. Elsa was about to say something but the voice of the Alpha, from the other part of the Dome, interrupted. "Oops! I think my father would want his tea. Do you mind?", Elsa said with a sarcastic smile. "Ugh! I hate your guts", Luna murmured as she stormed out of the kitchen. ~ At the breakfast table At the table, the mood was rather cold as the royals ate in silence. They included the Alpha, Luna, Elsa and the twin sons of Luna Devine and Alpha Zed. Elsa ate quietly but closely, her father could sense that her wolf was troubled and that bothered him. "Is it the nightmares again, daughter?", the Alpha's deep voice startled everyone on the table. Elsa raised her head and tried to shake it off with a smile on her face but that didn't do the magic either. "Father, it's nothing. I just woke up from sleep. Do you like your tea? Do you need more?", she changed the topic. "Elsa, don't play with me. The nightmares are getting unbearable and anyone can see through you", the Alpha insisted. "Oh honey! I totally agree. I actually thought that it was only myself that noticed it. I mean, look at her!", Luna Devine feigned concern. Elsa flashed her a deadly smile but her sons were quick to interrupt, defending their mother as usual. "Don't stare at her in that manner. She's only trying to help you. Don't be ungrateful", Dremo, one of the twins interjected. "Tell her! Anyways, I think that it's time for her to do as I suggested because it's really draining Elsa", Luna Devine said to her husband. "I'm not going to be a part of anything that you're suggesting, Luna. Do you hear me?", Elsa roared angrily. "Shut up! You will not scream in my presence and that's no way to speak to your stepmother ", the Alpha echoed. "Oh! I'm used to it already. It's already a routine ", Luna Devine said tearfully, in pretense. "Father, I'm sorry but I'm not going to sit here and allow her to act like she knows me", Elsa complained. "You will apologize to her right now ", the Alpha bellowed. "What...? Father...!", Elsa gasped in disbelief. "Do it now!", he growled. Elsa turned slowly to the Luna who had a victorious smile on her face. "Fine. I'm sorry", she murmured before hurrying out.
