The War Between Us

CHAPTER 1 - LAST DAY

"Ms. Smith, did you see Mr. Carson passed by?" My officemate asked. I'm busy revising our presentation later because the intern did many errors. I have no strength to answer back so I waved my hand to let her know that I did not saw Mr. Carson. And, I don't know who the f**k is Mr. Carson is.

"Uh, okay. Salamat." She was hesitating if she would thank me.

She disappeared quickly. Nagmamadali yata.

I don't care. All I care is finishing this f*****g presentation before 11 AM strike and It' almost 11!

"Ms. Smith, Please proceed to the room now. Mr. Carson is already at the Meeting room and alam mo kapag may urgent meeting." He raised his brows. Parang may ipinapahiwatig na hindi ko alam. He walked fast as if there was a commotion at hindi man lang ako pinagsalita.

I shaked my head because of frustration. I didn't know that this would be my mood on my last day in this f*****g company.

Bwisit na Intern. Kung kailan last day ko na saka pa 'ko pinahirapan ng bongga. Dapat pala hindi na 'ko pumasok ngayon.

Kainis!

I am already at the last page and it was killing me.

As soon as I have done typing, I threw the f*****g paper inside my office. After hearing the "f**k" I know, that was the time I knew I was f****d up.

"That's all for my presentation. I would like to say thank you for coming today. It is my pleasure to meet you all though it's our first and last meet. " I bow and give my last smile because why not, today is my last day so I will give them a gift.

Hindi naman sa hindi ako palangiti. I mean, this is my last smile so, hindi ko na ipagdadamot.

Umalis ako sa mini stage at umupo malapit sa pwesto ng bagong luklok na Chairman, My officemate who she was searching earlier, Mr. Blake Carson.

As I laid my eyes on him, I caught him looking at my direction. Pasimple akong tumingin sa likod but there was none. I heard him chuckled. May be he saw what I did.

I looked at him and I met his peircing eyes looking directly at me. I panicked because of what happened earlier in my office. I looked at him with no emotion. I need to be professional and I don't wanna ruin my last day though some stupid already ruined it. He smirked as I looked at him. I can't help but to stare at him too. The way his hair brushed up that shouting how powerful he was. His nose that I can only seen on magazines. His lips that-

"Ms. Smith, you did a very good job today although this is your last day, you did your best to do this presentation. Good luck on what is ahead you. Thank you for working with us for over 3 years and you really help our company compete in the corporate world. Thank you!" My head manager said. I heared claps and thank you's from my bosses and officemates. Though my morning ruined because of some s**t, but at least I have a good mood before I go home. I looked at each of them and said 'thank you'.

The urgent meeting was all about the company's new Chairman. It was Mr. Blake Carson. And still, I do not know him. I only heared his name by just now.

I came back to my office to clean the mess I did earlier. It feels like it hadn't clean for years.

Pilit kong inaabot ang papel sa dulo ng mesa ko pero hindi ko talaga kaya. Tumuwad ako para maabot kaso hindi ko talaga makuha. I growl as I can and at last, nakuha ko siya.

Ang hirap talaga kumita ng pera.

"Tsk." Napatalon ako sa gulat dahil nakasandal sa pintuan ng office ko si Mr. Carson. Nanlaki ang mata ko dahil hindi ko inaasahan na babalik at magpapakita pa siya sa akin. And, my office is the last one that is still open dahil kanina pa nag-uwian ang mga katrabaho ko. I brushed my hair using my hand and said "Hello" to Mr. Carson.

"Uh, is there anything you need. Mr. Carson?" I asked while stuttering. He looked at my office skirt dahil nakataas pa ng konti ang laylayan nito. Agad ko itong ibinaba at ibinalik ang tingin sa lalaking nasa harapan ko.

"Today is you last day?" He asked in a husky voice. I did not heard his voice  dahil tahimik lang siya sa duration ng presentation ko.

I nodded.

"Why?" He again asked. I looked at him and met his gaze. He's not wearing his coat na. Two buttons unlocked in his polo that looks him more attractive. Wait, what? More attractive my a*s. He even don't passed my standards.

"Nothing. I just wanna quit and do some shit." I replied. I heard him chuckled. Pinag-cross niya ang kanyang mga braso habang nakasandal pa rin sa hamba ng pinto.

"What s**t you are reffering too? I wanna try doing some s**t too." He seriously replied.

Bakit galit? Ang seryoso naman ng buhay nito.

He didn't even let me say what s**t I will do. Umalis na lang bigla and slammed my door. Nagulat ako sa inasta niya. Hindi porket siya na ang bagong boss ay dadaragan niya ako.

Remember, this is my last day. Dapat nga mabait pa siya eh dahil unang araw niya. Aba, pero hindi. Dinaragan ako!

I just shrugged my shoulders and continue cleaning.

"Fuck." I heard the man infront of me cursed because of what I did.

"Oh, I didn't mean to throw it to you. I mean, this is my office and everybody should knock because this is my office. For pete's sake!"  I said in a low tone voice. It feels like ang taas niya. Literally dahil nakatingala ako sa kanya. May be a 6'11 footer.

My God.

I am only 5'6 and I looked like a dwarf beside him. And daming papel ang nagkalat sa sahig. Mayroon pang lumusot sa loob ng coat niya. Dahil sa nahihiya ako at the same time natatakot dahil hindi ko siya kilala at napaka-intimidating niya. I touched his coat at dahan dahan tinanggal ito sa pagkaka-butones. I looked at him as I unbuttoning his coat. We stared at each other for seconds and suddenly I felt his hands against mine. But later on, I realized the awkward situation.

Umalis ako sa harap niya at umayos ng tayo.

He didn't even look at me and just left while my hands still trembling.
