Chapter 37 A MUCH DIFFERENT Dan Davenport appeared before the St. Cuthbert congregants on this Sunday morning. He strode forward, head erect and shoulders square, then sprang up the steps to the pulpit. His eyes, aglow with righteous fervor, passed over the small audience, holding each person’s gaze for a brief moment.
