BY SATURDAY CONDITIONS had improved enough for hunting to resume. The meet was at the Prestons’ BoSox Farm. Josh wanted to name the place Green Monster Acres but Mildred felt that was too arcane a reference for those not steeped in the storied history of Fenway Park. She did, however, concede to his wish to name their five horses after Red Sox Hall of Famers: Lefty, Boggs, Hooper, Zimmer, and Yaz.
