All during Reverend Laudermilk’s sermons, Rhetta would imagine an entire musical production starring Bing, with her in the female lead role. Never mind that Rhetta couldn’t carry a single note nor dance one step. But, then, Bing Sensabaugh’s wonderful vocal skills would never know any fame beyond Crutchfield County. Still, it was fun to imagine. And the good Reverend’s sermons never made much sense to her anyway. Looking back now, so many years later, perhaps she should have spent more time listening to Reverend Laudermilk and less time fantasizing about singing and dancing with Bing Sensabaugh.
