Chapter 71 RYMAN SPENT THAT Saturday afternoon shut in his office. He’d made it plain to Nardell that he didn’t want to be disturbed. She tried to keep herself busy by tackling some long-neglected household cleaning chores. Mostly she fretted about what Ryman was doing in there. By late afternoon she couldn’t stand it any longer. “Honey,” she said as she knocked on the door, “are you okay?” “Fine,” came the terse reply. “May I come in now?” “Yeah, sure, whatever.” She found Ryman seated at his computer.
