Chapter 76
JANEY STEPPED OUT of Krug Hall following her Wednesday afternoon class. She stopped in mid-stride when she saw Thumper sitting on a bench along the quad at GMU’s Fairfax campus. He arose as she walked toward him.
“Just happened to be in the neighborhood?” she asked.
“Oh, you know, cruising around, nothing much to do, next thing I know I’m driving right past good old GMU. Thought I’d stop by and say ‘hi.’”
“And you knew which building I’d be coming out of and when?”
“Lucky guess.”
“Right.”
“Okay, I looked up the course schedule online. Pretty easy actually.”
They began walking along, an aimless stroll in the general direction of the Fenwick Library.
“This isn’t, like, a stalking thing, is it?”
