Ava's Downfall
Ava’s body was filled with rage as she attempted to scratch Asher’s eyes out, but a set of two chains held her down. The chains appeared to be tainted, and she could sense the diminishing impact of the chains already. When Asher and his guards were leading her away from Freya, Ava screamed out in anger and pain.
‘I will never forgive you for this, Asher!’ she screamed, tears of remorse, fury, and betrayal rolling down her face. Asher quickly went to Freya and asked her how she was, and Ava felt a twinge of envy. He was never supposed to desire Freya, to love her as he did right now, as he stood there with his pants around his ankles. It was Ava who should be the focus of his attention.
Asher commanded his guards to put Ava in the dungeon, a place he had once told her was the worst in the castle, where people were tormented. When they were taking her away, Ava attempted to use her powers but could not due to the chains that were on her. Asher told her not to struggle and showed her a tool that could kill even the smallest of her species.
Ava shrieked, “I am Ava Stone, the high priestess of the Capris clan and the most powerful witch of her generation. Do you think I am done with you, Asher? I will make your life a living hell. ” She was then dragged by the guards and locked in a dungeon room while Asher just laughed evilly.
When Ava opened her eyes, she heard Freya’s shrieking and Asher comforting her. Freya then elbowed Ava in the stomach, and she immediately let out a groan. “You… You won’t get away with this,” Ava was barely able to whisper.
Asher snarled at her, “Who is going to get revenge for you, huh? Your dead members?” He roughly grabbed her chin, causing her to wince. “All I needed was a part of your power to be drained out and despite Raven’s attempts to block your power from me, she did a very poor job of it. If she could willingly say all her visions, she would have told you what would happen, but she couldn’t.”
Ava stared at Asher with hatred and remorse in her eyes. She understood that Raven had done all in her power to avoid this, but Ava’s blind love to the wrong person destroyed everything, even the clan’s history. Asher’s words were harsh, “Do you think I would look at someone like you for a second? Yes, you might be beautiful, but I still detest the sight of you. ” Freya then moved closer to Ava her teeth clenched in anger.
At that, Ava realized that she had reached the lowest point in her life. Her jealousy and love for Asher had taken her to the wrong side, and now she was suffering for it.
Lying there, weak and weak in love with the man who had deceived her, Ava realized that she had to get out of there and take her powers back. The fire of revenge was burning in her heart and she decided to take her revenge from Asher for betraying her.
Ava winced in pain as Freya pushed her face into the hot coal on the tray. The pain went through her from head to toe, and she shrieked at the top of her lungs. Freya appeared to become even angrier and forced Ava’s head further into the coal and the burning did not stop. Last but not least, Freya rejected Ava’s advances and shoved her head, which made Ava stagger back in pain.
“You had a father and never cared if you ever loved him,” Freya said with much hatred in her tone. “Well, I’m not complaining because that only gave me all the attention I ever wanted. ” Ava attempted to say, but she couldn’t due to the excruciating pain she was in.
Freya was merciless as she pulled Ava’s hair and began cutting it as if she did not care about the quality of the haircut. ”I will ensure that you are so ugly that even if you are to be reborn, the ugliness will follow you,” she laughed. Ava nearly choked on her tongue when Freya pulled out a syringe containing Wolfsbane, a poison that would kill a weak wolf on the spot.
Before Ava could do anything, Asher pulled the syringe away from Freya and stabbed the poison into her arm. Ava let out a scream as the pain and suffering ran through her veins and muscles. Her wolf’s cries and moans of pain echoed in her mind, and she swayed, feeling worse, the pain intensifying. She attempted to use her powers but they were as if paralyzed by the poisoned chain.
Ava cried bitterly as she listened to her wolf’s scream gradually disappear. She realized it had occurred – they had assassinated her wolf. With the last ounce of energy in her, Ava shouted, “How dare you! I curse you, Asher! I curse you, Freya!”
Asher and Freya looked at each other with no compassion before Asher said, “She won’t make it on her own anyway, let her die.”
They walked out of the room, and Ava saw them go as her vision became blurry. “After she is dead, her body should be left for the vultures; they should be given a decent feed.”
The moment the door shut, Ava’s sight started to blur. She was so weak and the pain she had was really getting too much for her. Her throat was sore, and she could not even swallow a drop of water without experiencing severe pain. ‘No… this… can’t be it,’ she murmured to herself.
Right when it seemed as though there was no light at the end of the tunnel, a faint noise echoed through the night. “Ava. ”The voice spoke to her, and she blinked her eyes slightly, and light flooded her vision. She recalled that she died after being administered with Wolfsbane.
“Ava,” the voice said once more. “Ava, can you hear me?” The voice became louder and louder. “Ava, wake up. You have to wake up right now.”
Ava woke up and saw a man standing over her. “Raven?” she asked in a very low tone. Had she somehow survived? And if so, how? Such questions were running through her head as she looked at Raven with her vision impaired but her heart full of hope.
Tears streamed down Ava's face as she heard her wolf's scream slowly fade away. She knew it had happened – they had killed her wolf. With all the strength she had left, Ava screamed, "How dare you! I curse you, Asher! I curse you, Freya!" She felt her life force being drained from her body.
Asher and Freya exchanged a callous glance before Asher said, "She won't survive it on her own, so let's just leave her to die." They turned to leave, and Ava watched through blurry vision as they walked towards the door. "Once she dies, her body should be fed to the vultures; they deserve a proper meal."
As the door closed behind them, Ava's vision began to fade. She felt weak, and the pain had become unbearable. Her throat was dry, and she couldn't swallow without feeling excruciating pain. "No...this...can't be it," she whispered to herself.
Just as all hope seemed lost, a distant sound pierced the darkness. "Ava." The voice called out to her, and she felt a slight opening of her eyes, allowing bright light to flood her vision. She remembered dying after being injected with Wolfsbane.
"Ava," the voice called out again. "Ava, can you hear me?" The voice grew louder, more insistent. "Ava, wake up. You have to wake up right now."
Ava's eyes fluttered open, and she saw a figure standing over her. "Raven?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. Had she somehow survived? And if so, how? The questions swirled in her mind as she gazed up at Raven, her vision blurry but her heart filled with hope.
