“Interview resumed at nine thirty-nine p.m..” Nathan said nothing more for several moments, he simply sat and looked across the table at his suspect. “You’ve had some time to consider your situation and discuss it with your solicitor, Mr Stopper, would you care to make any comment on what we were discussing prior to us pausing this interview?”
Neil said nothing, instead he looked around at his solicitor, leaving it to him to answer.
“My client is prepared to admit that he stole the car found in Branton Wood,” Polar said, “and that he is responsible for the fire that consumed it. He is also prepared to admit that he placed the body of his housemate in the car prior to setting fire to it. He did not, however, murder his housemate.”
Nathan couldn’t quite believe what he had just heard.
