CHAPTER 8Cory looked annoyed when he came out of the office with Mike on his heels. Mike was still arguing with him.
"I'm just saying," Mike said. "Hey, Abby."
Cory ignored him. He looked at Abby and then he pointed at Jasper. "You weren't at home."
"Nope," Jasper said.
Cory looked to Abby. "I thought we were supposed to pick up the comics."
"I didn't know that he was going to come over here. I need you to take him back to his house and get those boxes loaded."
"I'll do it," Mike volunteered.
Abby shook her head. "We're going to open up in a minute. I need you to stay here with me in the store. Why don't you go check the racks?"
"Fine," Mike said glumly. He pulled the gate open and walked out into the store. He slowly worked his way up the aisle straightening and fixing books that
