CHAPTER 24When the tears finally stopped Abby was left feeling as worn as a piece of driftwood on the beach in front of the van, but the storm had passed. She took a tissue from her purse and cleaned up her face. Going through the motions of reapplying her lipstick, a little mascara, it made her feel better able to face what had to come next. She needed to go talk to Jasper. It shouldn’t surprise her that Paul wouldn't help, and it wasn't fair to be mad at him for it. She knew Paul. If she had stopped and really questioned herself before making the call, she would have realized that she shouldn't ask him.
