I stare at the text I’d sent Sandra. *We need to talk. Can you come to my place?*
It'll be the first time she's ever come to my place. Not because I didn't want her here, not because I haven't invited her, but because before now she has not accepted my invitation. And she might not accept my invitation this time, either.
For all I know, she might actually hate me, like I'd been worried about at the end of our last encounter. For the past couple of days, since we had done the deed, she hasn't treated me any differently or behaved strangely toward me. She's her usual self, and for some reason that bothers me even more. Why isn't she mad at me?
