Chapter Twelve

1295 Words
Craig -   After that disaster of a day yesterday I was really not feeling school today. I begged both my parents to let me stay home, I even asked if moving school was still an option but they both agreed that I needed to learn how to deal with things like this. I cannot handle rumors, especially if they are over the top, clearly untrue rumors. I bet you if someone said a green dragon came and ate me, everyone would believe it. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door. I sighed and began to slowly walk over to my school until I heard a familiar voice.   "Craig!" I turned around and there he was, standing on his front porch smiling and looking sexy as ever. I ran back over to him. "Hey Cr-" My lips connected with his before he could finish his sentence. Every time I see Ray I just want to suck his face off. It's been a couple days since I seen him and I was so worried, I had no idea where he was. We parted and he smiled.  "I guess you missed me." He teased. "Yeah, where the f**k have you been?"  "My dad and I got into a fight, so he made me stay with my aunt and uncle and he took away my phone so I couldn't contact you."  "Oh s**t, what did you guys fight about?"  "You." I turned my head and looked at him, "You came out?"  "Oh, no, I almost did, but he said some pretty cruel things, so I didn't and um I heard about our dad's fight." He looked down, "and the rumors too."  "Oh no, I was hoping the rumors wouldn't spread to your school, I didn't want you being outed."  "Well I guess lucky for me, my dad called the school and they took care of it and no one really believed the rumors."   "What!? My school are eating these rumors up, I was so worried you'd be upset with me." He shook his head. "No, you weren't the one spreading them, It was a little irritating but it's not your fault."   "Okay, well I'm glad you're not mad."   "I could never be mad at you but hey my bus doesn't come for another twenty minutes, want me to walk you to school?" My heart jumped a beat, he wants to walk me to school, this is the best day ever.  "Yes! I mean yeah it's cool." He chuckled grabbing my hand locking his fingers in mine. "Babe?"  "Yes, Ray."  "You're okay with me not coming out any time soon right?" I sighed, I understand why he won't and I'm not going to pressure him into telling the world especially after all this happened while he was gone. "Yeah, it's fine, whenever you're ready to." We continued walking.   Most students like to chill out in the front of the school so once we got close, Ray released his hand from mine when he saw all the kids.   Hey, can we hang out soon?" I asked Ray, but before he could answer someone shouted, "hey look it's that gay boy!"  "Oh, look he has a boyfriend now." My eye extended. "I don't think that's his boyfriend, I think it's a friend that didn't know his secret."  "He does now."   "Wait could that be? The preacher's son." I shook my head quickly, why are teens so cruel? And to think these boys use to beg me to talk to the football coach to get them on the team.  "Cj...?"  "Yo-u, you can go now, you're going to miss your bus." I don't want Ray to see what kind of laughing stock I am.  "Hey leave him alone, damn, just because he's a different sexuality doesn't mean he's not human, he just likes boys, so jump off his tip because you seem to love being on it." My mouth dropped. Did Ray, correction my baby really do that for me? Oh my god I could just kiss him right now, but I'll have to wait to do it later.  I looked at him and he smiled back, pulling me into a hug. "I love you." He whispered before letting go. He what? "I can't see you after school today but we'll hang out soon." He said walked back towards his house. "Yeah, sure." I walked passed by the group of boys who were still in shock and went into the building.  I walked into my history class and sat down. I was in the best mood I could possibly be in. Ray confessed his love for me out of nowhere and knowing you're loved in a cruel world like this, it's a really good feeling.   My teacher walked into the room and placed all her belongings on her desk then directed us to today's presentation. "Alright class, it's time to present your history reports on Rosa Parks, Tommy you first."  Tommy went to the front of the class with his paper and took a deep breath before starting, "Rosa Parks early life...  Rosa Louise McCauley was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on February 4, 1913. She moved with her parents, James and Leona McCauley, to Pine Level, Alabama, at age 2 to reside with Leona's parents. Her brother, Sylvester, was born in 1915, and shortly after that her parents separated...."  I took my report out my bag placing it on the table, looking over it. I actually did this assignment. I want Ray's dad to accept me; maybe not as his son's boyfriend, but at least one of his close friends. Tommy finished his report bowing his head a bit.  "Thank you, Tommy, Craig your up next."  Of course, she's going in alphabet order. I tightly grip the sides of the paper. I always get nervous before I have to do something in front of a crowd. Hence my coming out the closet speech. I lost all speaking in public confidence after that.  "Are you going to stand there like a stupid ass, or are you going to present already?" Leander said. Everyone laughed beside the teacher. He's just being a stuck up b***h. Little do some people know, there's a whole bunch of gay guys that go here and that are keeping it a secret for specific reasons, but I know all the closeted gays here, and Leander happens to be one.   "Are you going to stop asking to give me head, or are you going to continue begging me to be your man?"  "Craig!" Ms. Howard yelled.  "Now on to my report. Rosa's mother was a teacher, and the family valued education. Rosa moved to Montgomery, Alabama, at age 11 and eventually attended high school there, a laboratory school at the Alabama State Teachers' College for n*****s. She left at 16, early in 11th grade, because she needed to care for her dying grandmother and, shortly thereafter, her chronically ill mother. In 1932, at 19, she married Raymond Parks, a self-educated man 10 years her senior who worked as a barber and was a long-time member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He supported Rosa in her efforts to earn her high-school diploma, which she ultimately did the following year." I smirked as I read looking up every now and then the whole class was still in shock, hanging with their mouths open. The two guys sitting next to Leander scooted far from him.  Let see how he feels now that everyone's going to disrespect his sexuality.  "And that's my report." I smiled and everyone clapped slowly, not sure of themselves.  Leander gave me a death stare as I walked back to my seat. Does anyone want to mess with this? I have comebacks for days.
