"No Hannah Meadows? We'll move on," said the programmer in his bored voice.
I had to do something. She couldn't be scared. Hannah wasn't ever scared. She got what she wanted.
"Wait!" I called, standing up suddenly. "She's just had an...asthma attack! She's gone to the toilet...she'll be back in a second, "
"Fine, we'll carry on for now, and add her on after,"
I breathed a sigh of relief before running out, trying to find her.
Asthma attack? Seriously?
But I had no time to think. She wasn't on their good books, but I knew that she would never live with herself after cowering out without trying.
I saw her pink dress outside, next to the school's entrance.
"Hannah, you're up," I said. She turned around, her eyes red.
"I can't do it Josh. What If I'm terrible. Only dad's heard me before and he could have been lying,"
"Hannah, you can do it. I promise,"
She looked at me, unconvinced. And I knew there was only one way of making her believe.
I leaned it and touched my lips gently onto hers.
