Chapter 5- Making History
*Third Person*
Regan had left her to shower in peace, knowing that she wouldn’t want them in there. Harry had gone to get her some underwear from her room and try and find some pyjamas but he had no luck with the latter. He walked back into the bedroom, that look of guilt still spilling through. Regan had chosen her one of his T-shirts, obviously way to big for her and she would be swimming in it. He lay it folded with her underwear on the floor outside the bathroom. After undressing themselves and discarding there clothes in the washing basket they laid lazily on the bed waiting for her to finish. When they heard the water finally stop both of them buzzed with excitement. Moments later she walked out, her auburn hair wrapped up in a towel and one secured tight key around her body showing off her thighs. Drops of water still remained on her collarbone, falling down to her breast that were wrapped up. She was gazing down at their body’s, her eyes half open with lust before shaking herself out of her daze.
“M-my clothes?” She stuttered, her eyes flickering around the room.
“Beside the door” Regan grinned, pointing to the spot next to her. She frantically threw down her old clothes, clutching on to her new ones before running to shelter in the bathroom. The twins couldn’t help but chuckle, seeing Avery flustered wasn’t just adorable, it was a turn on. Minutes later she exited the bathroom, closing the door quietly behind her. As expected the T-shirt hung over her small frame, hanging just about her knees. She stood there grinning, twirling around in the T-shirt causing it flutter around her. Her smile was contagious and the boys were soon smiling at her, in awe of her beauty and innocence. The towel had disappeared off of her head, damp auburn locks hanging over her shoulder making the T-shirt wet.
“Who’s idea was this then” she giggled, modelling off the T-shirt perfectly as she walked to the end of the bed.
“Guilty” Regan beamed, his eyes roaming over her body. “ I thought you would look cute and as predicted and as usual i am correct”. Her eyes swam with happiness as she crawled on to the bed. Harry picked her up by her waist causing her to squeal playfully, placing her between himself and Regan.
“Are we seriously sleeping like this” she chortled, her laugh rich and seniors. This was the first time the twins had seen her this happy and it sparked a flame in their hearts, now that it was lit they couldn’t imagine it going out.
“Yes we are. Dibs on little spoon” cheered Harry rolling over.
“Ofcourse your little spoon” Avery scoffed, rolling over and wrapping her arm around him. Harry sighed happily, melting into her embrace as Regan positioned himself beside her, snaking his arms around her waist.
“Your like human radiators” she muttered half asleep, Regan gently tracing shapes on her arm while her head was nestled up to Harry. Soon she was asleep, her peaceful snores lulling the twins in to sleep.
Violent ear piercing screams woke the twins up, Harry flipped himself over. Avery was trashing around frantically, tears streaming down her face. It was obvious she was still in deep sleep and whatever nightmare she was having was brutal enough to cause this. The twins looked on in horror, not sure how to deal with this, their eyes filling with worry. Harry pulled her into in lap and cradled her, pressing his lips to her forehead as her body violently jerked. The moment his lips touched her skin, all sudden movements stopped and the screams ceased but the tears kept falling. The twins lowered her back in the bed slowly so careful not to wake her, pulling the duvet over her. They led there in shock for while, what could be troubling her this much that she’s tearing herself apart in her sleep? Was it Alpha Richard’s being here? They had heard from their parents the cruel things he had done, the chaos and destruction that leaves in his wake. During the pack wars the twins had been taken to be sheltered in the panic rooms placed around the pack house, in case other packs attack. They couldn’t imagine what Avery witnessed, that would traumatising for anyone let alone a little girl. When they thought she had settled they both got comfortable next to her, Avery turned to cuddle into Regan who eagerly opened his arms for her.
Regan woke up to Avery draped over him and his legs tangled with here. He put his nose to her hair and inhaled, taking in her scent. Today was the day of the Alpha Ceremony, everyone had been given a day off school to be able to attend, the twins would be expected downstairs first thing to get ready as would Avery who was expected to help. Regan mind-linked Harry who was still fast asleep beside them.
‘Oi wake up’ barked Regan, Harry groaned in response.
‘What dude it’s to early’ he mumbled, rolling over to hug Avery. She fidgetted slightly and then let out a small yawn, her eyes opening slowly.
“Morning” she whispered, her voice was so soft and whispy in the morning, it instantly turned the twins on.
“Morning princess, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we have to get up” Regan sighed, planting kiss on the top of her head.
“Do we have to” muttered Harry, who had pushed himself up and was rubbing his eyes. Avery instantly shot up, startling Regan.
“Crap! Sorry I’m expected downstairs to help and I’m going to be late. Luna Cleo is going to kill me” she muttered, panic taking over as she climbed out of bed and rushed to the door.
“Not even a good morning kiss” teased Harry, his eyes roaming over her body. Even in the morning with her hair all over the place and a half asleep panicked look in her eyes she was beautiful.
“Ofcourse not im late as it is!” She hissed, grabbing her old clothes off the floor and yanking Regans T-shirt off. She chucked it to them on the bed before she started putting her clothes back on. The boys sighed as they climbed out of bed, Regan walked over to her and took her in his arms smothering her. She gasped and then hugged him back, pressing her head into his chest.
“Don’t worry about mum we will cover that, go shower and change and head to the kitchen we will meet you there” Regan laughed , pressing a kiss to her head, she pulled apart and nodded. She left the room quickly and Harry followed after.
Once the boys were ready they headed downstairs, and into the dinning room. There was already 10 people settled around the table, some of the guests the twins recognised and some they didn’t. Their mum and dad sat at the top of the table and stood to greet them as they came in, all eyes were on them as they approached.
“Speak of the devils and they shall appear” cheered their father, their mother stood next to him beaming.
“Morning” the twins stated in unison, looking around the room.
“We didn’t get to see too together last night. Why not?” The twins could recognise that hoarse hostile tone anywhere, there eyes snapped to him and they suppressed a growl.
“Alpha Richard’s, not that it’s any of your business but we were studying” snapped Regan, unable to control his temper. Harry placed a hand on his shoulder.
“What he means to say is that we are still high school students and take our education very seriously” Harry stated, he remained calm and composed despite everyone’s eyes staring him down.
“Enough talk, sit food will be out soon” Mother called, gaining everyone’s attention before she muttered “where is that wench”. The twins tensed and their hands balled into tight fists, every nerve in there body on edge.
“We have something to do and then we will” Harry managed to spit out, grabbing his brothers arm and steering him out of the room. They headed towards the kitchen in the hopes Avery might be there already. Ofcourse she was, as soon as the door opened they could see her rushing around preparing things. They leant on the wall, appreciating her for a second. Despite having a handful of tasks she was calm, moving around the kictchen with ease, in her own little world. She was wearing a pair of ripped mom jeans with a long sleeve back T-shirt tucked in, her fiery hair was damp and thrown into a messy bun.
“How can we help?” Asked Regan, Averys eyes snapped up at them lost for a moment.
“You guys help?” She repeated, her eyes widened.
“Yes help, what do you need to be done?” Harry chuckled, rolling up his sleeves on his shirt.
“It just needs to be plated up and served” she giggled, bringing a tray of sausages over. She had made a wide spread of sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms, eggs fried and scrambled with toast, there was enough to feed twice the amount of people in the room. They all worked in silence as they evenly portioned everything.
“What are you guys doing?” Taunted a husky voice, the three of them turn to see Liam and Harvey. Avery’s posture tightened at the sight of him and she took a few steps away from the twins.
“Just helping out” Harry shrugged, putting the plate he was holding in the sink.
“Since when do you help in the kitchen” pressed Liam, finding this whole thing hilarious.
“Since today is the day we become Alphas of this pack. Things are going to change around here, we are going to help out and since you find it funny you can help clean up” Regan laughed, Avery looked up at him with such admiration, like he had just handed her the moon and the stars.
“Your joking right?” Harvey laughed.
“And you both can help us carry these out” Harry snickered, Harvey’s laughing instantly stopped and was replaced by a groan. Avery stood there giggling quietly and the twins burst out laughing. Everyone grabbed as many plates as they could carry, walking through to the dinning room laughing. Gasps and whispers erupted around the table, the twins parents looked on in horror as they began placing plates in front of everyone.
“What do you think your doing?” the Luna shrieked, her eyes falling on her sons.
“Serving breakfast” Regan said calmly brushing her off, placing his last plate down and sitting in his seat. When the last plate was served and everyone seated, Avery turned as if to head back into the kitchen.
“Where are you going?” Harry asked her, she turned to look at him her face beet bred he couldn’t help but smile.
“To clean the kitchen Alpha Harry” she muttered, all the attention her made her nervous and uneasy.
“None sense you cooked it so you can sit and eat it, like we said we will help clean after” Harry beamed at her, the corners of her mouth lifted slightly before dropping. Regan pulled out the empty chair beside him and gestured for her to sit, she scurried over to him.
“What do you think your doing boys?” The Luna hissed, obviously displeased with their behaviour, causing Avery to flinch.
“Today we become Alpha of this pack. We learnt under your guidance. Growing up you told me that our pack is our family, and that we protect each pack member like they are one. Avery is part of this pack is she not? That means she has every right to sit at this table and eat with us. She is not our slave, she is one of us. We can hire help if needs be it’s not like we are short on cash” Harry proclaimed, and the whole room goes silent. Everyone eats either in silence or in quiet conversation, Luna Cleo was taking every possible opportunity to glare at Avery making her shift in her seat.
When they were done they all collected the plates and took them to the kitchen to wash up.
“Did you see your dads face!” Snorted Liam, who dissolved into laughter the moment we were in the safety of the kitchen. They passed the plates to Avery who placed them next to the sink. Harry and Regan stood next to her after and where surprised when she pulled them both into a hug.
“Thank you, it means alot” she sniffled pulling away, a single tear rolling down her cheek before she wiped it off with her T-shirt sleeve.
“You don’t need to thank us, this was something that shouldn’t have happened from the start and I’m sorry it didn’t. But after tonight everything changes, we are making history” Regan chuckled, looping his arm around her waist. She giggled as she stood on her tip-toes and pressed a kiss to his cheek. She turned to a expecting Harry and went to plant one on his cheek but he turned in time to get her lips. She jumped back shocked, her eyes darting from Liam and Harvey to the twins.
“I knew it” Liam laughed, Averys cheeks flushed pink but the boys couldn’t help but laugh.
“Was it that obvious?” Regan asked sheepishly, running the back of his neck.
“Thought she couldn’t tell yet she’s not 18 yet right?” Harvey asked and Avery started frowning. They had been avoiding the subject of her birthday at all costs since asking her to stay last time.
“Not yet, 6 days” Harry shrugged, gazing down lovingly at Avery, she shot him a small smile as she went to grab a apron off of the kitchen door.
“What do you think your doing princess?” Harry teased, a smirk playing on his lips.
“To start getting ready for the ceremony. I have to cook for a lot more then 10 people so I have to start now” she mumbled, fiddling with her sleeve.
“Don’t think so, I’ll call a caterer. We’re going shopping” exclaimed Regan, reaching out to grab Avery’s hand.
“What? I have no money I can’t.” She dug her heels into the ground in protest.
“Who said you needed money? That’s what we’re there for” laughed Harry, finding her little temper tantrum amusing.
“And we’re here to carry the bags” chimmed in Liam, nudging Harvey in the ribs.
“That settles it, to the mall” Harvey shouted as he charged out of the kitchen back door.
On the drive to the mall Avery sat upfront with Regan while Harry, Liam and Harvey sat at the back. As promised Harry had called the catering company and arranged for them to be at the pack house as soon as possible to prepare. Avery looked out the window perplexed by the passing shops on the strip of road towards the mall, it didn’t beat the look on her face as she gazed up at the 10 floored mall. Everyone rushed in and took her into the nearest shop.
“Pick anything you want” Regan smiled, encouraging her to go around and look. She did so cautiously, scared to touch anything and just looking at items from a safe distance. The twins took turns encouraging her and showing off different items that they thought she would look good in, considering she could pull of anything there was a lot of choices. After half a hour she relaxed slightly, and was showing the twins things she liked, they would immediately grab her size and throw it into the basket.
After what seemed like hours they had finished shopping, Liam and Harvey carried all the bags back to the car.
“Hungry?” Regan asked, sliding his arm around her shoulder, she looked up grinning.
“Starving” she laughed, he withdrew his arm and they all headed towards the food court. After finding a booth Harry slid in first, then Avery then Regan. They shared a menu between them, Harry pointing on things in the menu that he likes. Liam and Harvey slid into the boot opposite.
“Ordered yet?” Liam questioned, holding his stomach. Regan shook his head and then stood up. They all told him they want and he wondered off to the counter.
“We got to be quick eating because there’s a surprise for you at home” smirked Harry, throwing his arm around Avery.
“No I hate surprises! What is it!” She demanded, her forehead creased as she pouted at him.
“Not saying” Harry laughed, Liam and Harvey grinning from ear to ear.
“Oh so they know aswell?” She said gesturing to there red faces.
“Don’t try bringing us into this” Harvey chuckled, picking up a white napkins and flying it in the air like a flag.
“Regan!” She called, he instantly came running, halting at the table.
“What’s happened? What’s wrong” he asked, worry consuming him.
“Can you get the food to go? I want to get back for this surpise” she pouted, her lip quivering as if she was about to cry.
“Are you kidding me I thought you there was something actually wrong!” He groaned, face palming over dramatically.
“I’m being serious!” She squealed, she was just as impatient as them if not more.
“Fine, go to the car I’ll be out with the food in a bit” he chuckled, giving in to her childish act. She squealed happily and slid out of the booth, hugging him the moment she was free.
“Thank you!” She was jumping up and down happily, sticking her tongue out at Harry. She rushed towards the exit leaving the boys to chase after her as Regan grabbed the food.
