Lucas arrived home then began absorbing the Spirit stone, he also reluctantly traded a bronze levelled fundamental pill that he exchanged in the system’s store. The pill took 5000 Emotion points, spending over half of Lucas’s savings.
A pill materialised in Lucas’s hands, according to the description in the system, the pill could solidify Lucas’s Spirit power to the greatest amount meaning no matter how fast Lucas improves the ranks, he will always have the most solid fundamentals.
Lucas wasted no time and began the absorption process with the Spirit stone. The energy it contained propelled him to Bronze 6, a remarkable feat given the speed at which he had advanced from Bronze 5. However, reaching Bronze 7 proved to be more challenging due to the rapid ascent.
Yet, Lucas had another ace up his sleeve—the fundamental pill. He ingested the pill, feeling an immediate transformation in his Spirit power foundation. As his spirit power solidified, he could build his future advancements. With this newfound stability, the path to Bronze 7 became clearer.
“Looks like the easiest method to improve for me, is collecting Emotion Points.” Lucas thought silently knowing how hard it was for normal people to reach Bronze 6 but due to the system he did it in a few weeks.
Lucas then thought of a genius method, he could earn so much more Emotion Points from the internet, he opened his phone and established a post on the internet writing, “Fire controller Polio doesn't belong to the Six.” Lucas then wrote a descriptive analysis on how bad Polio is, and how Polio is the most overrated Spiriture of all time.
Fire controller Polio is one of the six extreme ranked Spiritures. Having his handsome face and humorous personality, Polio is the most popular Spiriture in the world right now. Lucas is also a big fan of Polio, but to collect enough Emotion Points, he was confident that Polio could sacrifice a little bit. In Lucas’s post, he put in dirty comments about Polio and he also created fake statistics to enrage all the Polio fans in the world.
Then Lucas went to bed waiting for the post to enrage all the Polio fans in the world tomorrow.
The second day Lucas woke up extra early, after his fundamentals got solidified he was ready to absorb another Spirit stone seeking to break though Bronze 6. But before he began training he checked his Emotion points, then he shockingly discovered that his Emotion Points grew to a staggering amount by all sorts of annoyance and rage.
He opened his phone seeing thousands of notifications arguing and insulting him about his post. Saying all his statistics was fake, and none of the arguments made sense, he is just posting it to seek attention in reality he was just a failure.
Although Lucas saw all sorts of insults, but after seeing his Emotion Points reaching 14,365. He was filled with joy, he then posted another post saying everybody who likes Polio was fools, and they’ll never be good Spiritures. The post immediately raised more anger from the Polio fans, gaining much more attention then the post yesterday. Seeing the Emotion Points rising at a rapid pace, Lucas became flattered then began absorbing another Spirit Stone. Also purchasing another Bronze levelled fundamental pill ready to reach Bronze 7 again. Because the fundamental pill yesterday maximised his potential in Bronze 6 he passed Bronze 7 fairly easily, but as he absorbed he still felt a slower improvement than yesterday, because the Lucas constantly absorbed Spirit stones, his body began to grow resistance to Spirit stone. Just like having an illness, the second time will have a weaker effect on your body. Feeling the resistance, Lucas decided to absorb the remainder of the seven Spirit stones slowly in order to gain the most out of them.
In the morning when Lucas arrived school the whole class fallen to chaos when they saw Lucas, before the weekend Lucas was only a Bronze 3 levelled Spiriture which made many people in the class to look down on him, but this morning he already became a Bronze 7 levelled Spiriture even higher than the average rank of class one.
“How is he Bronze 7!” All the students in the class screamed inside their minds. They couldn’t believe their years of hard work was caught up after a few weeks.
They did see how Lucas improved from Bronze 1 to Bronze 3 in a few weeks, but developing four minor ranks in two days is just ridiculous. Even if Lucas gave up on bad fundamentals and absorbed numerous advanced Spirit Stones, it’s still impossible for him to develop at such a fast pace. Because as your fundamental weakens, it’s going to be harder for you to absorb the Spirit powers in the Spirit stone.
Mr. Flynn then arrived at class, seeing the classmates crowding around Lucas. “Lucas, what are you doing again?” Mr. Flynn asked worriedly as Lucas had made all sorts of trouble in school as he joined class one. Even though he is really focused in class, he is an absolute menace after classes.
However, Mr. Flynn’s body paused when he felt the expression of Spirit power from Lucas. Mr. Flynn's initial reaction upon sensing Lucas's Bronze 7 Spirit power was a mixture of anger and shock. He believed that Lucas had sabotaged his own future by rushing through the ranks so quickly, potentially ruining any chance of proper training in Space control. However, as he observed more accurately, Mr. Flynn was surprised by the fact that Lucas's Spirit power seemed incredibly solid, showing no signs of a compromised foundation. This left Mr. Flynn deeply confused about how Lucas had managed to achieve Bronze 7 in just two days with such a stable base.
Despite his confusion, Mr. Flynn continued with the lesson, though his distraction was evident. He couldn't stop thinking of all the various possibilities of how Lucas had accomplished this remarkable achievement while maintaining a solid foundation.
After the lesson, Mr Flynn went up to Lucas with curiosity and hope. He still suspected that Lucas sabotaged his foundation, but if Lucas genuinely had some strategy to evolve so rapidly, then Lensland and even humans could become historically powerful.
“Lucas, can you stay here for a moment.” Mr. Flynn asked Lucas to stay as the rest of the class exited. The remainder of the class was not surprised by Mr. Flynn’s request, they knew that Mr. Flynn was probably wondering how Lucas improved so rapidly because they hold the same question.
“Are you asking me about my fundamentals?” Lucas jogged over from the end of the class room.
Mr. Flynn nodded then added, “Lucas it’s really dangerous for you to be improving so rapidly, I honestly don’t think that you are ready yet.”
“I don’t really know what’s happening as well, Grave came along with Michael Brown yesterday and gave me ten gold ranked Spirit stones.
“And you absorbed them all?” Mr. Flynn asked in furious thinking Lucas definitely ruined his future.
“No, I only absorbed two of them.” Lucas said casually.
“How!” Mr. Flynn exclaimed in surprise knowing how hard it is to improve further with an unstable base. This means it will only take Lucas more and more spirit stones to improve the ranking. But Lucas did it in two, that means Lucas must’ve had the most stable fundamental to be only using two of them. Mr. Flynn felt the sense of jealousy inside him. He worked this long to just be a tutor in the school, but geniuses like Lucas could improve so rapidly while possessing the Space control.
“I’m not sure either. I just didn't feel like my foundations were bad.”
Mr. Flynn was confused, he suspected that Lucas had some sort of strategy to improve ignoring the flaw in foundation. But then he shrugged ignoring the idea, how is it possible for a fifteen year old to figure out a method that no professor has done for centuries. He grinned evilly towards Lucas lending an arm over his shoulder. “Lucas answer honestly, have I been a great mentor?”
“Yeah, despite giving me two detentions, calling my parents five times and warning me of a suspension. You also put my name up on the board 36 times over the past week.” Lucas answered tonelessly.
“Uhhh,” the words paused before Flynn’s mouth, he was originally wanting to ask for Lucas’s secret on how he could develop so quickly. But Lucas made it sound embarrassing. “Yeah, but that is because of you glueing people's mouth with godzilla super glue because they were eating too much, splashing people with water balloons with vinegar inside because they are apparently too loud, drawing graffitis on top of the loos because people are aiming badly, you even shaved the principal's bird with only the top part left because he gave you a suspension.” Flynn yelled thinking about the madness inside the school after Lucas became a Spiriture.
“Yeah, because the guy bought everything inside the canteen, some of them were competing who can yell genitals louder, and they were aiming really badly, the entire floor was wet” Lucas explained his actions consecutively.
“Then why did you shave the principal's bird, leaving a n***d bird and a mohawk.” Mr. Flynn continued asking.
Lucas paused, struggling to find a reason for the actions. “Anyways, I don’t know how I’m improving so quickly, and my mum told me to go back home quickly because her cousin’s best friend’s dog is giving birth and we all need to be there. See ya Mr Flynn.” Lucas quickly finished the conversation teleporting outside the classroom.
After the lesson, Lucas, Pake, and Anna headed to the training room as usual. Today, Anna joined them, seemingly in high spirits due to Kenny's absence. Pake sparred with Lucas, expecting to overpower him with his higher Spirit power reserve, but to his surprise, it was Pake who lost first. Lucas effortlessly dodged Pake's attacks and even managed to counter-attack, although his strikes had minimal impact on Pake.
As the battle wore on, Lucas utilised his wormhole ability, positioning them strategically to gain the upper hand. With Pake running low on Spirit power for long-range attacks, Lucas had the advantage of maintaining a safe distance while keeping Pake at bay. Eventually, Pake became too fatigued to continue, marking the first time Lucas had defeated him in training.
Just when they stopped to rest, Michael Brown knocked on the door of the training room then walked in. Michael Brown said hi to both Anna and Pake then showed Lucas to step outside with him.
Michael Brown and Lucas walked all the way to the personal training room of Michael Brown.
“Are you going to teach me some moves or something?” Lucas asked not knowing why Mr. Brown brought him here.
“Nah, I’m just trying to let you meet someone.” Mr. Brown said then suddenly noticed the expression of Spirit power on Lucas.
“Bronze 7 are you serious?” Michael Brown exclaimed in frustration. At first he thought Lucas rushed his rankings and felt guilty for giving him so much pressure causing Lucas to ruin his future. But then he realised the Lcuas’s fundamentals didn’t show signs of instability, in opposite it seemed extremely solid.
Michael Brown’s eyebrow narrowed in confusion, not understanding how Lucas improved two minor ranks in a night.
But seeing Lucas not willing to tell him how, he shrugged, understanding that everyone has their own secrets that they don’t wish others to know.
“You are really the most talented person I’ve seen in my life.” Michael Brown said in amazement, even if he was a diamond ranked Spiriture he still never witnessed anyone having Lucas’s talents.
“Come inside, I have a present for you.” Michael Brown said, then opened the door of the training room to let Lucas step in. After Lucas stepped in, he saw a person that he has seen a million times on the television, but unlike the two dimensional appearance on TV, the figure expressed a sense of pure and powerful Space Spirit power. Just by seeing him, it seems like the Spirit power on himself has a sense of obedience like an innocent rabbit seeing a tiger, kneeling down to its greatness.
“Space traveller Lu!” Lucas yelled in extreme joy, although they told him that Lu might come to tutor him soon but he didn’t expect Lu to arrive so quickly.
Lu smiled gently at Lucas, anticipating his excitement. His expression was also surprising when he felt Lucas’s ranking. If he didn’t see the message wrong, Grave told him that Lucas’s ranking should only be Bronze 5 and he only got his talent a month ago when he was 15. But now Lucas is already bronze 7 and his fundamentals seem extremely firm.
“Show me what you got.” Lu said, then telling Lucas to attack him.
Lucas understood there’s no way he could hurt Lu, so he pulled out his sword he purchased from internal storage and attacked without holding back.
Lu easily dodged Lucas’s attack without effort, but also confirming that Lucas’s fundamentals aren't unstable meaning Lucas honestly does have a talent never seen before, no matter to be gaining a talent 15 or becoming bronze 7 in a month.
Hearing the message Michael Brown felt a sense of pressure, Lucas could be the future of humanity if he was taught well enough, but if he didn’t then maybe no one will ever have his potential again.
After understanding all Lucas’s abilities, Lu paused the fight then listed the things that Lucas needs to work on. Although Lucas has great talents in sword but the power is marginal, and his utilisation of Space control still needs experience, but that could be solved by time.
Lu nodded, agreeing with Grave's statement about the kids' magnificent talent. Before he came he prepared a Spirit stone that could offer Lucas a third skill, but he soon realised Lucas already has a third ability. But the only problem is that Lucas is improving too rapidly, he needs to experience real obstacles to improve in danger.
He looked over to Michael Brown who stood aside watching their fight. Michael Brown also fell in shock, he realises that even if he was at his prime, there is no chance for him to handle Lucas’s pressure so simply. He gained a further understanding of how scary the Six are.
Lu thought for a moment then slowly said, “I will be coming over to you everyday after school for two weeks. By that time I will hope that you could become at least Bronze 8 then I will send you to a f*******n zone, I could sense that there’s something you need there.”
“f*******n zone?” Lucas asked in surprise, he has heard of the f*******n zones, they seem to be external worlds that appeared along with the fog five hundred years ago. Five hundred years ago, people discovered numerous portals that laid all across Atlantis; within each portal, there are species of different creatures with Spirit powers just like mysterious. Some experts thought the portal was an entry to outside the fog. But however all portals seem to be on different planets showing no signs of earth. In each f*******n zone there are different restrictions to access, some only allowing Bronze ranked Spiriture to go in and some allowing all. Generally creatures inside aren’t able to exit the f*******n zone from the portal, but sometimes the most powerful creatures in the f*******n zone will shatter the restriction causing mysteriouses inside to escape and cause chaos.
“Yeah that’s right, the f*******n zone I want you to enter is restricted to only bronze ranked Spiritures. However no one was able to access the centre of the f*******n zone. But I could still feel that there is something inside that’s a great treasure for Space Elemented Spiriture, but I can’t access it” Lu said while shaking his head.
Lucas nodded understanding the danger of the task, if no bronze Spiriture was able to gain the treasure, then there is probably a Silver ranked mysterious within it. He doesn't expect anything more powerful than a silver ranked mysterious because the restriction seems to match the level of mysteriouses meaning the f*******n zone is mostly made up of Bronze ranked Mysteriouses.
Just when he was thinking about the treasure within the f*******n zone, the sound of the system rang within his mind again.
(Mission: enter the f*******n zone. Reward- a new talent (sword of sky))
Lucas’s eyes widened in excitement, thinking it was the best day of his life. Not even gaining the treasure, but just entering the f*******n will give him another talent.
Although there have been records of people with two talents, that is so rare that no one expects it to happen. And even more, the talent is a weaponry Talent being the sword of sky, Lucas doesn’t know exactly what the talent is but Talents relating to the sky normally have unbelievable affect, and the sword will surely increase his lack of damaging abilities.
“Yeah that sounds really good, do you think I should go in about a month?” Lucas asked, resisting his excitement towards a second talent.
“Be careful, the f*******n zones are not like normal training programs, you will genuinely die. No one will be able to reach out for you and help you.” Lu reminded, “you could ask someone else to come with you if you’d really like.” He then added.
“No I’m fine by my own,” Lucas said, knowing that Anna is already Silver ranked and Pake will soon become Silver as well.
After discussing everything Lu left, while Lucas also finished school going to take his daily run. However today, Anna joined along although Lucas is good physically but the difference between Silver and Bronze was large, so in fact Lucas was the one to be actually struggling to keep up.
After they finished, the two sat together on the side of the street resting from the intense training.
“So you met the space traveller Lu today?” Anna asked in surprise, after Lucas told her why Mr. Brown took him away. However she wasn’t as shocked as Lucas, being the child in the Miller family she has seen Lu before on multiple occasions.
“Yeah, he was actually so nice as well,” Lucas thought back to the magical experience, he had dreamt of meeting one of the six, he feels like his dreams are slowly becoming true.
“Are you going to attend the National Spiriture competition?” Lucas asked in curiosity seeing how extraordinary Anna’s talent is.
"Yeah, I guess but I don’t think I’m good enough," Anna replied with a hint of disappointment in her voice, her eyes revealing the burden of her years. As the eldest child in the prestigious Miller family, she had always been expected to set an example and handle challenges on her own. Yet, no matter how hard she tried, it seemed her efforts could never quite meet her family's demanding standards. His dad, always holding a sense of coldness within his expressions, Anna could feel deep in his eyes there has been a slight annoyance or even disgust.
Looking back into the perfect eyes of Lucas, Anna suddenly felt a strong will to convey her troubles to Lucas. “Maybe, he could understand.” Anna thought within her mind.
"You know Lucas, sometimes I feel pressure" Anna confessed, her voice quivering with anxiety and frustration. "I really want to be great, you know? I know I have good Talent, and I have access to so many resources, but I always feel like my family doesn't actually care about me."
Her emotions began to pour out like a dam breaking free. Anna had never spoken to anyone about the immense pressure she had been under for fifteen years. The weight of her responsibilities, the unmet expectations, and the feeling of never being good enough had taken its toll.
"I've never felt my dad's love, and my mother was gone before I had memories of her" Anna continued, her voice filled with a mix of sorrow and anger. "Every day, I walk into that house, and it just feels empty, like there's nothing there for me to love."
“I love my brother, I really do, but even him seems to have a barrier lying between us. Sometimes I wonder if I really belonged in the family, but even an adopted child shouldn’t be filled with annoyance shouldn’t it. Why can’t my brother just treat me sincerely, why can’t my dad make me feel love, even the slightest bit?” Anna’s emotions began losing control. She has never expressed the feeling with anyone.
Lucas listened in silence, understanding the depth of her pain. He had experienced a similar sense of emptiness and inadequacy before discovering his Talent. The crucial difference was that he had a loving family and the positivity that had sustained him.
Seeing Anna cry, Lucas couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy. He extended his hand slowly, offering her a comforting hug without saying a word. As their tears mingled, he understood that sometimes, the most powerful form of support was simply being there to listen and share in the weight of another's emotions.
