Cassandra's POV
I knew this day would come eventually but I could not stop myself from being nervous. It wasn't the first time I was going to meet Alaric's parents, who were also Sinclair's grandparents; this time, it was different.
I was meeting them after dramatically breaking off my engagement with Sinclair on our wedding day then showing up the next month married to Alaric. The feeling it gave me was unnerving.
"It is just a meal, there is nothing to worry about," I told myself while staring at the mirror on the dressing table. I looked modest enough to meet my in-laws.
There wasn't a need for me to overthink it after all my plans were to leave this marriage. The old madam and mister of the Von Duvall family were already in their 70's; they should not be that difficult.
