A cat sat in the hall. Its color and patterns resembled a tabby. But its size was like a bobcat. In its eyes was a green four-point Celtic knot that stared into Vanessa's soul. She couldn't ignore its stern expression as though she already messed up.
Never did it utter a word nor move a muscle. It remained in place with its looks alone lecturing her on everything she has done wrong in life. After a few minutes, Vanessa was sitting cross-legged in front of the kitty. She thought hard about what message this kitty was trying to deliver. Only when Ra flew around the shrine room did he see and yelled for her to go.
"Right!" she yelled, springing to her feet.
She ran past the kitty, wondering about its purpose. Meanwhile, the kitty walked away, heading back to its author discord to share its legend.
"Get to work!" yelled Ra as she sprinted down the hall.
The hallway was pretty long and downsloping just a bit. It was clear the room at the end was her final destination. Shadow demons were returning to taunt her again. They flowed steadily within the walls. one attempting to reach out for her.
It clicked not to run too fast so that she wasn't burnt out in the end. Nor would she get ambushed by these heathen. A red flash, stretching our signs across the hall that said "Tutorial" stopped her anyway.
"First, you must establish a connection," said The Isekai Game System.
Vanessa was a little shocked hearing it.
"In a magical theme, you may do this by saying 'connect'".
"Connect!" she shouted, enabling the stars to bless her with its auras. The connection was strong given Ra's help. However, she knew that she could make a strong connection as well in time.
This connection allowed her to use supportive abilities from the stars, as well as the abilities of the seven sins. Once the red tutorial signs went down, she ran further down the hall until they reappeared.
"Power of sloth, 'summoning'. To use this function, use the 'summoning' command," said the system.
"Summon!" yelled Vanessa, creating a see-through fish from each arm that swam through the walls eating the shadows. Their body was outlined in white with thick white dots to represent their joints. It was truly something expected from the stars.
The fish ate through the shadows, sending them screaming away, begging for the madness to stop.
"Mwahaha," laughed Vanessa, enjoying her nasty little villains groveling for mercy.
"You won't make it to the pro leagues"!
"Get your head together"!
"w***e"!
"We'll kill you"!
With the tutorial down, Vanessa was left to run down the hall for a minute, watching the shadows squirm within the walls, eventually jumping out to fight.
The tutorial rose up again, "Next, the power of gluttony. Call out his name".
"Gula!' she shouted, causing katanas to shoot out of the ground. They flew through each of the shadows, slicing them repetitively. Some shadows dodged the initial assault, only to be chased by the blades and shredded to smoke.
Upon hearing the last one cry, Vanessa ran before the tutorial signs dropped. The shadows jumped ahead of her, morphing into a single monster.
"Commence tutorial, greed. To draw on the power increase, call for 'power'"
Vanessa ran towards the howling shadow beast, slicing Masamune at it, "Power"!
The strike dug deep into the monster, enabling her to slice three more times into it. Each strike pummeled the beast until it vanished from her final kick. That surge of power only lasted 10 seconds. Yet, it was more than enough to take out a giant monster.
The shadow vanquished into smoke, showering her in its virtual mist. She ran right through it, excited for the next power and determined to beat the boss.
Shadows were swirling in the wall when the red tutorial signs rose up, "Cast your illusions with 'holo'".
"Holo!" she shouted, creating a number of illusion clones to run into the walls, slicing each shadow before they can come out. She smiled, trotting with little hops as the shadows shattered in the walls. Smoke rose out with each kill, filling Vanessa's little heart with joy.
Smoke assembled with some of the shadows from the wall to create another monster. There was a charging ball of energy in its mouth.
"Absorb your opponent's attacks with the power of "E" for magic and "V" for physical. Your next appropriate attack will release that power".
"Good!" said Vanessa running into the creature's attack. It was when it finally fired its attack that she slashed her sword, shouting, "E"!
The magical blast was absorbed into her sword. She tried to stab it into the creature, but it swung its claw at her.
"V!", she called, absorbing the impact.
Her body burst with lightning as she drove her blade through the beast, releasing a lightning disc larger than its body that flew down the hall.
The tutorial signs dropped as the beast vanished into smoke. Vanessa ran down with another one rising from the ground.
"Call the power of pride with 'super'".
This was clearly R'bi's power of which she was more than excited to have, "Super"!
Her body and sword glowed brightly. The beast launched a few quick, dark, blasts at her of which did nearly no damage. And best of all, she didn't feel pain from it. It enabled her to endure most hits seamlessly, without taking much damage. With that in mind, she fearless sliced her sword into its throat and drove it down its body, ripping through every shadow organ it has.
The creature faded away as the tutorial signs dropped. She was now close to the final room. But tutorials signs closed off the entrance. Nothing was there. Vanessa counted on her fingers how many powers she got. Technically its was seven. But one was the astrologian connection which was her new job class. That left giving her access to use the seven sins powers and that was only six so far. But which one was left?
As a human-sized ghost formed, the system spoke, "To cast the power of hatred, call out 'Ra'".
The ghost flew at her just as she called out her companion's name. Her spirit drained, leaving her feeling lifeless for a moment, yet her sword glowing. She sliced through the ghost, sending its spirit to the afterlife.
It was set in stone. The giant heart was beating, visible from outside the room. Vanessa watched it, letting her body heal back from her astrologian aura. There were no more shadows. All that was left, was the Logan Replica that was cursing the heart for his own gain.
Once her body was healed, Vanessa stepped in to stop the man.
