Temper Temper

Vanessa wore an all-black magical dress. A see-through black veil hanged over her face, topped with a small black hat. Her full clothed attire contrasted Mimi's jumpsuit which cut short at the bottom. It was lined in a neon yellow.

Both counted down in unison, "Three... Two... One".

Through the dark Mimi appeared like a yellow flash. A goblin swung his knife at her, only to be decapitated.

Another attacked her head-on. She swiftly chopped through its arm with her second sword and decapitated another. A blade was thrown into a goblin, enabling her to shoot out a bunch of shurikens at others.

Grabbing her blade, Mimi ran around a corner slicing through two goblins like a hot knife through butter. A hoard came through, testing her strength. Though her vision was poor, Mimi was able to use a magical sight ability the see their shape.

One goblin stabbed into Mimi's gut. A second goblin jumped on her head. Falling back, her physical image vanquished. Her blade sliced one goblin in half and the head off the other.

Each time a goblin landed an attack on her, it became saddened by her fading image. It was an alterimage technique that Mimi used well for close-range combat. Quite common for those who have mastered the ninja class like Jaivva, Logan, and Mike. However, Mimi's mastery of the technique left many newbs questioning her very existence.

Never did she seem to stop from exhaustion. Whenever an opening was spotted, a goblin would take advantage. Just to be baited to an instant kill.

Vanessa, who was completely blinded, drove her flame enchanted katana through the goblins. One s***h would tear through three at a time.

The flames did well to get her through each attack. But her vision was still little. Thus she ignited dead bodies.

The goblins were too fast to get a clear image. When she murdered one another would jump at her blind side.

She stuck her blade in one and ignited it alive. Keeping her blade in, she spun it around to create rings of flames. Like a club, she smashed it through many other goblins. When the area around her was cleared, she flung the goblin off her blade.

Taking a fighting stance, Vanessa enchanted her own body in flames. A goblin scratched er and was immediately ignited. With these scorching flames, Vanessa was able to speed her killings up.

Mimi weaved a few hand seals to summoning a dark transparent dragon. It pierced through the darkness like a speeding shuriken, taking its victims by surprise.

Never did it indulge for a feast. Rather its focus was to merely kill its opponents by simply biting through their souls and move on.

At the end of the tunnel, the dragon vanished as though it was simply a nightmare. Many goblin bodies laid dead throughout the tunnel. Mimi ran past them to get to another. 

She held her blades in one hand to throw a few shurikens. Each one multiplied in mid-air. The rain of ninja stars killed many goblins and crippled a few others.

Unsatisfied, Mimi cut through the remaining goblins. One jumped into her face. She easily dodged and impaled the creature. But a dagger was perfectly timed to hit her leg.

The dagger hit the ground and her thick thighs squeezed the little goblins arm. A simple turn to slice another goblin was all it took for her to crush her little victim's arm. The goblin screamed for friends only to have a blade rammed into its crackling spine.

It had to be about ten goblins or so that jumped at her at once. To their sight, it appeared she had dropped her blade. The reality, she flipped through a series of hand seals quicker than the eye can catch.

There had to of been a glow of some sort to her when she caught her blades, seamlessly dashing into each one. Each goblin felt her blade stab a vital area. But they weren't dead. They were left paralyzed for mere seconds to suffer the pain in time for Mimi to throw a kunai in each of their throats.

Mimi continued decapitating as many goblins as possible. She worked a serious sweat trying to kill them off. The 60-second countdown that appeared on the walls didn't help.

Vanessa ignored the timer, focusing on killing as many goblins as possible. She stabbed her katana into the ground and called, "Venus Flower". Red spheres appeared on the ground, erupting into coral-like flames.

Goblins burned to a crisp. If they weren't hit, they boiled until blood popped from their bodies. The heat was more than Vanessa could bear, but with the timer almost done, she had little choice.

She showed no mercy to the goblins. They were skilled indeed. Perhaps in a different setting, they would've slaughtered her. But today they were crisp and the timer was over.

The walls displayed her and Mimi's kills. Whatever the exact number was, Vanessa couldn't tell. All she knew was that it was in the seventies for both which meant they achieved their limit break on their first try.

Mimi was heard expressing her relief through the dungeon halls. A light came from the wall into Vanessa's chest, giving her an alterimage when with Mimi.

"Well, at least they passed," moped Logan looking at the screen of the two girls' trial.

"Cheer up. You do what you need to and make it to the pro leagues," said Kiki.

"I'm trying. I couldn't recruit anybody yesterday. Andres is being a pain lately. I'll consider Faith and Hakken. But the two we needed were Chad and Iku".

"Oh yeah, they really want to go pro. They should join y'all. Kick Andres off if anything".

"Tempting. But we do need a tank and if all else fails a leader".

"Well, your boy is killing the team right now. So you need to make a decision. Maybe if you would actually work out and take this more seriously you would be big enough to be the tank".

"I swear to God Wednesday, keep it up and I'll bring back your mullet".

Kiki smiled, "I was cute with that mullet".

"How long have y'all known each other?" asked Jaivva.

"Long enough," answered Logan.

Kiki rolled her eyes to answer, "Since middle school. It was a bunch of us though".

Jaivva continued, "I thought y'all were close. Dani too".

Kiki's smile got a little bigger when she answered, "No".

Vanessa came running out of the tunnel with Mimi, waving her arm at the sight of Logan.

"Logan!" yelled Kiki, "Wave back".

"Have you gotten your limit break with Andres yet?" asked Logan in a stern tone.

Vanessa closed her smile and shook her head. Logan's expression wasn't shocked, yet simply disappointed.

"Whatever," he said, "Anyways, We may be getting some new teammates soon".

"Ah, that is sooo nice," said Vanessa, "But why you so sad today"?

Jaivva answered, "Because he's having a hard time with Andres and getting new teammates".

"Mmmmm... no," said Vanessa squinting her eyes, "There is something else bothering him".

"Anyways," said Logan in a belligerent relief, "We need to get my limit breaks with each of you asap so I can handle some stuff. We'll start with Jaivva since hers is closer".

"The Isekai Spring event will be coming the week before his birthday in March," said Kiki smiling at him.

"Aaah, so they changed it in March," said Vanessa looking over at an agitated Logan.

Mimi corrected her, "No, the Isekai Spring Event is a special event they bring you out for. It's held in the middle of March. But you have to be 18 to go".

Unhappy with the conversation, Logan ended it, "When they confirm who all is invited, I will explain it in depth what it is. I'm pretty sure both of you will be going. But for now, let's hurry up and get our limit breaks".
