The Pandas!!!

1009 Words
She may not have a snack costume, but Jaivva was sprinting along the tracks to pet her some pandas. Each step brought raced her heart. The dwindling bamboo to normal trees didn't phase her. The cuddly pandas were known to migrate throughout the year. And it happened in a couple of steps and turns past a large tree. A large mama panda was grooming her two cubs. What appeared to be a father bit down on a baby cub. Every nerve in Jaivva's body dangled seeing them play as a happy family. Her blades were sheathed to not alarm them right before stepping through the tall brush. The papa spotted her. Jaivva froze scared of what was to come. Papa's paws curled inwards with a gentle roar. The very nodding of his head was a clear sign, welcoming Jaivva to their family. Tiptoeing through the brush, she held her hand to pet the baby who was running towards her first. Mama rolled over, heading towards her young. A g*n fired, hitting the mother in the head. Papa roared and the baby cried by its mother's side. Jaivva was lucky to be hidden by a tree. It allowed her to safely locate the shooters. However, one sprang from behind a bush, shooting the father. Jaivva threw shuriken and ran at the man with her doubled blade ninja sword. At roughly a foot away, she swung her blade at the man. Though he was off guard, the man managed to block her swing with his rifle. After throwing a few kicks, Jaivva swung at him twice. The third swing got caught by his bayonet. Papa panda ran past to protect her from an oncoming shooter. He got shot in Jaivva's place a few times but managed to bite the man's g*n. With Jaivva's blade stuck in the bayonet, the man fired his g*n. The blade shot off. She rotated the other end into the man's arm and threw him to a tree. A third man swung a club at her head, knocking her down. The second man struggled to get the papa off from against a tree. Baby panda scratched at him to help. The man tilted his rifle to shoot the baby. Papa used the moment to bite off the man's face. The first shooter tossed his g*n to the third. First, he killed the papa panda. He turned towards Jaivva, but she grabbed his g*n. The two tugged for the g*n. Jaivva stabbed a dagger into his arm. He tried kicking her away. Instead, she dropped kicked him for the g*n. Aiming the g*n at the third guy, a machete swung into Jaivva. She managed to block it with the g*n. The machete was wedged in. With her short sword, she cut off the man's arm. He screamed as blood squirted out. Jaivva sliced right into his throat and squared towards the third shooter. The third shooter backed up just a bit with a knife in hand. Jaivva spooked him just a bit before throwing her machete into his collar bone. Before he screamed, she grabbed his knife away and stabbed him in the throat. Though loud, his gurgling didn't stop the sound of vehicles driving up. With the knife and machete in hand, Jaivva observed her surroundings in a low position. The three shooters were dead, along with the parental pandas and the baby. All that was left was the two cubs hiding in a bush. Rustling was getting close. Jaivva knew there were many coming. She sprinted to the cubs to run them away. Before she could escape, a jeep pulled over the dead shooters. She pushed the cubs behind a large bush where they weren't seen. Five men holding rifles with bayonets exited the vehicle. They spoke of selling the preserved pandas to a couple of places. One guy even asked about where to sell the meat and organs. There were local restaurants that served the endangered panda as a delicacy. Jaivva refused to let it get to her. Though her double blade ninja sword was broken, she had a few other weapons to survive. The cubs listened well. They crept like kittens learning to hunt. Their bodies wobbled as they made their way through the forest without being seen. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Later at a lake, Jaivva watched over the cubs while they drank. It was dangerous for them to survive alone in a forest full of poachers and vicious predators. In fact, she noticed a python lurking in the waters. Perhaps pandas were as sweet as they look. Maybe that's why there was a panda on the duck sauce at Chinese restaurants. The python struck quick at a cub. Its timely strike was met with a shuriken from Jaivva. She didn't bother watching the snake drown. The sound of its body smacking the water was satisfying enough. "Where am I going to take these cubs for safety and how?" were her only two thoughts. Looking into the forest, she saw a mountain with thick bamboo. Poachers weren't likely to drive up there. And if the bamboo really was thicker, then there are likely more pandas to take care of the cubs. Sure it was barely a hunch, but there was nothing else for her to go off of. When the cubs finished, Jaivva wrapped them in little ghillie covers she made. They were adorable camouflaging in the trees as they were before. Unfortunately, it was war. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Jaivva herself remained crouched with minimal covering to break her silhouette. The cubs listened well to do as she instructed. They remained silent and crept mere feet behind her. One cub sniffed off track into some nearby mud. Luckily Jaivva remained aware of her surroundings and the cubs. She tried to get it back on track, but the cub was stubborn. After looking into the mud, Jaivva realized there were panda paw prints leading out the other way. It was great to see signs of other pandas in the wild. It gave clear sense of direction where to go.
