We arrived at the docks and there were people all around. The crowd was bustling and there was music playing in the distance. The smell of burning coal and the sea filled my nostrils.  Theodore's footman handed him a letter as we climbed out of the carriage. He read it quickly and scowled, swearing under his breath. He held tight to my arm and made a straight line towards the gangway and ushered me onto the ship. The officers looked at our tickets and provided Theodore’s footman with the information of our rooms whilst we were shown to a seated area with coffee and other first class passengers. ‘What was that about? Rushing me onto the boat? I wanted to see what was happening!!’ I questioned him, annoyed that he had rushed me with no explanation or warning what was going to happen. Ar
