We cut our game short because people begin showing up and Stella excuses herself to the kitchen to make another drink. I follow her and I don’t have to look to know that Kane is following right behind me.
When we get there I lean against the counter facing her and say, “Wanna tell me what just happened with Cole?”
“I have no clue what you’re talking about,” she says but she’s clearly lying.
“Nuh uh, nope. Don’t try that with me.”
“Fine. I think he’s super hot and he intimidates me a little, okay?”
