ADRIAN’S POV I sat on the stool watching the security footage, during which one of my trucks was intercepted and replaced with an empty truck. The pasta in front of me tasted bland. My mind flickered back to Kira. She had walked in on me throwing the pan in anger, oblivious to the news I had just received. When she’d offered to help, I let her.
