Cameron's POV:
We ended up renting a car because Clay told me it was one thing for him to carry me a short distance at his vampire speed but to carry me for thousands of miles was another. He said he wouldn't be able to go nearly as fast the entire time which would run us the risk of being noticed by the humans and he probably wouldn't be able to do it before the sun came up. The other thing is that Theo or any other vampire could scent me out during that time and could easily attack since we wouldn't be going as fast. He said that a car would be better and that it would help hide my scent as we traveled.
