The twins trade doing the dishes for some television before bed. At first, I think it’s a pretty decent offer until I realize they want to watch some sort of forensic crime science program and then we have to fight about whether they should be allowed to watch something all about violence.
“Grandma said you and Uncle Frank used to beat each other up all the time,” Brody says, scowling. “How’s this different?”
“Because it is?” Honestly, I have no idea. It’s just a gut feeling. Either my dad instincts are kicking in or it’s self-preservation talking because the last thing the twins need to know is how to get away with murder. “How about a Disney movie?”
“How about Despicable Me?” Brody counters.
I pause. “Isn’t that one about a bad guy and his minions?”
