The prospective buyer’s been riding Pele for the better part of an hour, and from the looks of it, she’s enjoyed every minute. Normally, I would get slightly concerned with buyers over-riding one of my sales horses, but Pele, God love him, has always enjoyed work. Mostly American thoroughbred with just enough Irish Sporthorse thrown in his background to give him the world’s goofiest personality, Pele enjoys attention—any kind of attention. Whether that’s jumping around an arena full of huge fences, or tearing up the water troughs in his paddock, he likes his humans close, and in my experience, he doesn’t care if we’re cross or not because he’s sunny enough for everyone.
