Chapter 3Ciar growled as he stalked between the trees to get to the clearing near the lake. Draven was a soundless shadow above. He’d been looking forward to a lazy evening, but now they were to have a meeting. Stupid bears. No one was to be spotted by the human, much less approach it.
As he stepped out into the clearing, Thano, Kerrin, Raven, Humbert, and Humbert’s mother, Armelle, were there. As were more crows than he cared to count huddling on the branches, and the wolves had shown up. Ciar could sense a vampire or two hiding in the dark, too.
