Heartfelt Confrontation

As soon as we reached to the rooftop, I jerked his hands off from mine, “Why did you bring me here? Do you want to remind me that you rejected me and that too so coldly?”

“You got me wrong Krisy. I would never even think of doing such things to you. You don’t even know how precious you are to me. I was really startled that day when you suddenly confessed to me. I didn’t know what to say that’s why I rejected you.” He stated with a worried look on his face.

“So you are telling me that if you were not startled by my sudden confession and had known it before, you would not have rejected me, right?” I questioned lifting my right eyebrow.

“That’s not what I meant. I mean I would not have rejected you so coldly. I might…” I interrupted him.

“Ooo… You are saying that you would not have rejected me so coldly but still would have rejected. I just don’t understand why you have to reject me. I mean we are friends for so long, we know each other more than anyone else, you have protected me all along, when that guy Jake was flirting with me you beat him up and announced in front of everyone present there that I am yours alone and that no one can touch me. I thought those words from you were sincere and we have mutual feelings for each other. I was so happy that I couldn’t even sleep that night. But the very next day, I saw you flirting with that b***h Sasha. Do you know how much I cried that day in front of my friends? I didn’t talk to you for 3 days after that and you didn’t even realize. But the very moment you bought me a chocolate, I forgot all that painful memories and feelings. They even chided for forgiving you so easily. Although you were negligent sometimes, you gave me a great comfort. Whenever I called you, you would leave all your work aside and come to me. Your every action, every reaction made me believe that you love me. Am I wrong to believe so, Ray Miller?” I cried out with tears flowing from my eyes and rolling down my cheeks.

 I know I am a mess right now. But I don’t care, I need answers to my question. I want to open my heart and all the agonies that I have hidden for once. I don’t want to control myself anymore.

With the look on his face, I knew he was confused. He didn’t even realize the things which I have just said. He brought his hands to my face and wiped the tears with his thumbs.

“I’m really sorry Krisy…I didn’t even know we have so much misunderstandings between us. Because of my impulsive behavior, you were hurt and I am ashamed of my negligence. But let’s not have any misunderstandings between us, ok?”

“It’s true that I said you were mine but that was only to protect you from all those scumbags that linger around you just because of your body and your money. You don’t even know how beautiful and innocent you are, Miss Kristal Williams. Your mesmerizing green eyes can even enchant a ruthless demon. Your long ravishing black hair can bewitch anyone in this whole world. Your pale skin and those plump and full pink lips of yours makes other want to possess you. You are too innocent to realize that.” His eyes were full of love and admiration as he said that.

I was astounded by his description of me. I was just blankly staring at him not knowing what to say. “If you think I am so good, then why don’t you be the one to possess me?”

“That’s because I can’t see you getting hurt. I don’t have any romantic feeling towards you. I don’t want to start a relationship with you on the basis of a lie. I have seen you just as a friend with whom I can share all my secrets with. Even if I agree to be your boyfriend for now, what if someday I fell for someone else? Won’t that hurt you more badly? I think it’s better for our relationship to be limited to being friends only. Let’s be how we were before, alright?” he tried to make me understand his point.

OK my love, you want to be friends right? Alright, we will be friends just as you want. I will play this game and see the end of it with my own eyes but the rules will be mine. And I will make sure you abide by it.

“Alright, if that’s what you want, let be it. We will be friends from now on like how we were before. I will also try to move on and see you only as a friend. But let’s make some rules for us not to misunderstand anything anymore.

First, we won’t interfere with each other’s love life. I can date whoever I want. You don’t get to stop me. But since you are my friend I will give you a benefit. If ever you think I'm not with the right guy or that guy is just using me, you can stop me by providing some proper evidence.  Same goes with me.

Second, you won’t show any intimate actions in front of others.

Third… I haven’t thought about that till now. I will let you know when I have decided.

If you can agree on these terms, we can be friends again.” I negotiated wearing a serious look on my face. He smiled and nodded into agreement. "You sure are a daughter of one of the best lawyers."

Just you wait, Mr. Ray Miller. I am not the type to give up so easily. I know you love me and I have seen it in your eyes. I just don’t know why can’t you see it and what’s stopping you. But I will make you realize my place in your heart. I will make you fall head over heels for me. I will make you want to possess me. Next time, it will be you to confess your feelings.

With this thought and self-promise, we both exited the rooftop together smiling at each other and holding some untold feelings.
