Henry could only mumble after his fiancée left. He couldn't possibly tell Sonya that he would pursue his love again.
He would do it quietly, and Henry planned to start a closer relationship with Amanda without his family knowing.
Although Amanda repeatedly said she was married again, Henry didn't seem to care about his ex-wife's current status.
"Amanda is much better than any woman. Her only mistake was betraying me, but I only hate her with my mouth. Deep down, I still love you very much, Amanda."
Henry leaned back and closed his eyes. 'What you did to me was very painful, but why does my love for you not diminish one bit,' Henry thought.
Looking back, it hurt Henry to know that the woman he loved so much had betrayed his love. But strangely enough, despite being separated for almost six years, he still loved his ex-wife very much.
Henry straightened his seat and looked back. "You're a very troublesome woman, Sonya," Henry said when he saw his fiancée's belongings still in the car.
Henry reluctantly delivered them to Sonya's house. He wanted to go home as soon as possible. Henry felt dizzy whenever he saw his fiancée's face because something annoyed him.
Henry knocked on the door of his fiancée's house while calling her name, knocking many times and even shouting, but there was no response from inside.
The man angrily kicked Sonya's door, put all his fiancée's shopping bags on the doorstep, and left quickly.
"What did you see in that woman, Mom? Why do you want to marry me off to Sonya so badly?" muttered Henry as he drove to the office.
Sonya opened the door to her house after she could no longer hear Henry's voice. "Instead of trying to seduce me, he just left."
The woman exhaled harshly and then called her maid to bring her groceries inside.
"He is indeed your fiancé, Sonya, but you must remember that he got engaged to you because of business, not love." Sonya reminded herself of the situation between her and Henry as she walked up the stairs to her room.
Sonya entered her room and closed the door with a bang. Then, she called the woman who worked at Henry's house.
"Come here; I have something to ask you," Sonya called one of Henry's servants, who was her spy.
Sonya felt Henry was hiding a big secret from her. She would not give up quickly to get the man she loved.
She removed the most significant barrier six years ago, but she has been unable to make Henry fall in love with her until now.
"Yes, Miss. I will come to your house."
"Alright, I'll wait, but don't fail to come because I have an important mission for you."
"I will come, Miss."
"Okay, then I'll wait." After contacting her confidant, Sonya threw her cell phone on the bed in annoyance.
Her mind was racing with reality; she tried to connect one event to another.
"I'm sure Henry wasn't talking to William. If he's answering a text message from the assistant, there's no way he's looking that cheerful," Sonya muttered. Or are Henry and Willy something other than boss and subordinate?"
Sonya thought William and Henry had a special relationship because she had never known her fiancé to be close to a woman.
She was even more convinced Henry hid something from her and his family. She would continue to investigate her future husband until she found solid evidence. The woman hopes that what she thinks is not proven.
Not long after her cell phone vibrated again, Sonya picked up the phone and talked to someone on the other end of the line.
"Hello, Miss Sonya, I'm already in front of your house."
Sonya hurried to open the door of her house, then invited her messenger to sit down.
"What should I do, Miss?" the woman asked Sonya.
"Has Henry ever brought a woman into his house?"
"In all the time I worked there, I never saw him bring a woman into the house."
'Let's hope I'm wrong,' Sonya thought.
If Henry and William had a special relationship, it would be tough for her to win the love of her fiancée because the rival was of the opposite gender.
Sonya waved a hand in front of her face to banish all her thoughts about Henry and William.
"This is not what I wanted to ask." Sonya exhaled harshly, then spoke again. "Is it true that Henry came home in blood-stained clothes last night?" Sonya said while staring intently at her messenger.
Sonya had deliberately made this person pretend to be a servant at Henry's house so that she could find out what her fiancé had been doing all this time.
"I don't know when Mr. Henry is home, Miss. But, I'll try to ask the other servants."
"I've assigned you to the house to monitor what Henry is doing and to pass on any important information about my future husband. Not just to be a cleaning lady." Sonya was annoyed by the servant's answer.
"I'm sorry, Miss. I promise to do a better job." The servant couldn't argue or reason that she was there not only as a spy but also as a servant.
"Hurry back to Henry's house and get the information I need immediately." Sonya was very annoyed with the waitress. "Such easy work is incompetent!"
"Yes, miss." The servant bowed respectfully before leaving the boss's presence. "I promise I'll get the information you need right away."
Sonya nodded as she shook her hand to send the servant away.
Meanwhile, Henry had just arrived at the office. He entered his office and immediately called his assistant.
"Willy, how is Alana?" asked Henry, "She's fine, right? No serious injuries, right?"
Ever since the accident, Henry couldn't help but think about the girl he had hit. There was a different feeling from looking at Alana's face, especially since she was the daughter of his ex-wife, whom he believed to be his biological daughter.
"She's fine, Boss," William replied, "but as for her internal injuries, I haven't gotten any information from Mrs. Amanda. I told her to let me know if anything serious happens to her child."
"Where are you now?" asked Henry again. He didn't know that his assistant was already in the office.
"I'm in my office, boss," replied the assistant as he stared at his computer screen.
"Why are you in the office?" asked Henry as he straightened his seat.
"Mrs. Amanda asked me to leave because she was afraid that her husband would come and misunderstand me." William lied to his boss. He had no idea how many lies he had told for Amanda and her children.
'She takes care of her husband's feelings, but she didn't take care of mine when she was my wife,' Henry said to himself.
"Boss, are you still there?" asked William when he no longer heard his boss' voice after a few minutes.
"If there's any news about Alana, let me know." Henry immediately closed his cell phone. He didn't like hearing about his ex-wife's husband.
Henry resumed the work he had neglected for Sonya but couldn't focus; he always thought of his ex-wife.
"How do I get rid of Amanda's husband?"
