Young Lady Annabeth continued to ride through the darkness. Her tears fell like streams down the side of her cheeks as the cold night wind whipped her face. She did not know what happened to her parents. She only knew that they were dead. Echoes of the blood-curdling screams filled her mind. She held onto Gilroy’s reins, trusting the horse to take her where she needed to be. She did not stop to take her rest, knowing full well that whoever killed her parents would come for her.
