Scarlets POV
We are in the safe room for what feels like forever. I will say, I’m quite surprised the detail they have put into the inside of the room. It really doesn’t feel like the super reinforced room that it is. There is faux natural lighting coming from something that looks like a window, and the door is even painted to look like a natural normal-looking door. There are a bunch of books that look like they are in here intentionally to protect. One catches my eye, it looks like a children's book.
“Wanna read a book, Gracie? It’s called The Ascension Of The Mother Wolf.” she nods her head and curls up with me on the bed. I pat the other side of me to signal Adeline to come join us as well, she looks terrified. I read the book to them as if I’m reading to a classroom of kind
