That night, Yulian without any shame went for food in the prince's room. Since most students had already gone back from their weekend break, he encountered baffled and hostile stares as he strode to the quarters of Alex. He ignored most of them, in anyhow they weren't trying to make things difficult for him. Only with an exception of a dumbass mohawk.
Clayton with his sinister smile blocked his way, only a steps away from the door which contains his food.
"Not so fast, shrimp. Where do you think you're going?"
Yulian lifted his chin and stared at him squarely. "I don't think that's any of your business."
"Well, it is my business, especially how you strut your filthy feet here. You belong down below."
"Pfft..."
"You have guts to laugh at my face, huh?"
"Yes." He crossed his arm and move closer to mohawk. "Last I check, you also belong down below."
Yulian during his stay in Alex's room learned that only three people occupy the third floor. The twin son of the duke and the prince. This dumbass also had the guts to come up here.
He could see the rising anger on his face but did not do anything to him. The whole student knew by now that somehow he had formed a connection with only royalty in the academy. That's why none made a move against him. Only this guy in front had not given up his hostility against him.
The mohawk controlled his rising anger and back away but not before uttering a threat. "Tomorrow will be the day you'll know your place. Not even the prince can help you."
He watched that ignorant back retreating away from him. He must have applied for a duel with him for tomorrow's combat and per the academy's rule, no one can interfere unless it will cost a life. They highly encourage this kind of rule for their students to develop a sense of a competent mind and the impression of momentary glory of the victor will drive him for a further quest for power. And of course, this serves as an outlet to vent the negative emotions for the nobles' sons and daughters to avoid internal conflict inside the academy.
In any case, he did not plan to be reduced to a punching bag for that arrogant young noble. He too has pent-up heavy emotions inside him, he'll have to remind himself to be mindful of his attacks for tomorrow.
Yulian knocked at Alex's door and hear a reply from the other side. "Who is it?"
"It's me."
Not long after, the door opened.
"Come in."
Alex had a serious expression on his face before turning back inside. Yulian came to freeload some foods but it seemed there's a grey cloud hanging above his room.
Yulian saw the twins discussing something near the window and when they saw him, they both went silent.
He had a hunch this was related to Minnie. The outgoing McAlister had a gloom surrounding his body. A high contrast to his usual self.
"Um, hello."
"It is good that you are here." Luke walked towards him with that stern face of his.
Did someone see him this morning? He'd been careless. He opened his mouth for his defense but Alex stood between him and his friend.
"Let's take it easy, Luke." Alex then faced him. "Why don't you take a seat first, Yul?"
He looked up at that clear eyes of his and the guilt he tried to bury wanted to resurface again.
"Okay." He turned his back from him to his expression. He took a seat at his usual spot.
Alex poured him tea and offered the snacks that Yulian coveted. At this time, his hungry had all disappeared, and only took a sip before asking them what they wanted.
The prince sat at his side and narrated the event that had happened. According to Ann, a cloaked figure had entered Minnie's room and taken her sleeping sister. She had tried to stop him but she was knocked unconscious before she could make a sound. Her grandma then found out when she checked on the girls. It created an uproar in the area and the city guards were mobilized to find her but not a trace could be found of her nor her abductor.
"Madame Madge had told us about how you found Minnie yesterday." Alex started. Luke seated opposite them while his twin remained standing at the window. Though his back at them, he knew he was listening.
"Is there anything, any strange thing you remembered when you found her?" He continued.
Yulian stared at him with his eyes not giving away his conflicting emotions inside."And as I said to the Madame, I was on my way back at the academy, it was already dark, I did not much notice anything besides her sitting at a corner, weeping her eyes out. I couldn't much understand except for a man who had left her before she pass out."
'I'm sorry. I promise I'll find her soon.' Yulian uttered in his mind.
There was a moment of silence before Alex straightened and look at Luke. "There's not much clue we can get from Yul. Miss Minnie's abductor remains a mystery. It is better to leave her case to the capital's authority."
A sigh escaped from Luke. He knows that Alex said was right and from his observation, the midget was clueless about who they're trying to find. What he was worried about was the mentality of his brother. He knows Leo likes to play around with whoever he fancies but he never lasts a relationship. Madame's missing granddaughter was no exception. The two had only met for a few days before hitting it off. And he know it would be only for five days before he breaks up with her but unexpectedly the girl was the first to leave him. And the following incidents happened. Luke wouldn't have his headache and not care for this matter if it weren't for his twin's name getting dragged in the case and Madame was a close friend of their grandmother.
The stern McAlister stood up, already done with his matter with Yulian. "Thank you for your cooperation, Albertine." He turned to the prince. "Alex, I'll have to return home and make arrangements for the investigation."
"Don't worry on this end. I'll inform the professors on your behalf."
Luke bowed in gratitude, nodded to Yulian before walking for the door. He called his brother to follow him.
The other twin had already heard everything and was ready to go. He knows that there's must be something he should do. Even though, Luke and Alex had repeatedly told him that Minnie's disappearance got nothing to do with him.
Leo saluted to the two sitting beside each other and came out of the door after his brother.
