A day has passed, and we’re still here in the hospital. Augustus continues to take care of me, serving me whenever I need something—whether handing me items or feeding me during mealtimes. His parents visit us from time to time, but my parents no longer come; it’s likely they don’t really care about me. Ever since Augustus confronted Rain, she hasn’t visited either, and I’m somewhat glad she’s no longer causing trouble in my life.
“Do you still need anything?” he asked, and I shook my head. “I’m okay. I hope I can go home tomorrow because I’m getting tired of being in the hospital. I want to rest and read the book I bought,” I said, nodding at him. Right now, it’s just the two of us here since his parents have gone home. From time to time, the nurses come in to check on my condition.
