I looked at him from head to toe, unable to speak after he said those words. I was stunned. I don’t know why, but I knew those words were a compliment from him. It was the first time I ever heard him compliment me.
"Thanks, you too. I almost didn’t recognize you. You look clean," was all I managed to say. He laughed slightly at my words.
"And what do you mean by that?"
I couldn't respond. There was an intensity between us, like we were the only ones who understood each other in our world. We had forgotten there were other people around us. As I looked into his eyes, it felt like they were pulling me into their depths, taking me to another dimension. But our moment was interrupted when my sister, Rain, suddenly spoke.
