The Maid's Daughter

Chapter 4

I pop open my eyes when I hear my cell phone go off. I did not know where it was so I just let it ring. I rolled over on my side but something was stopping me, I look down and I had nothing on, and there was an arm over my body. I eye grow big, I looked behind me and there was Danny. I look down his body that best I can and what I can see he had nothing on. I laid my head back down and everything that happens last night came back to me. "Oh nein, was habe ich gemacht, ich hatte s*x mit Danny, OMG. Warum habe ich das getan? Bin eine verdammte Hure. Oh Gott, was wäre wenn, was ist, wenn er herausfindet, dass niemand wochenlang verletzt ist?" (German for Oh no, what did I do, I had s*x with Danny, OMG. Why did I do that for? Am a fucken w***e. Oh god what if, what if he finds out I'm is going to be hurting for weeks) 

I look back at Danny he was still sleeping, I pull his arm off of me and get out of bed, I slowly go to my bags and start putting something on, anything on so if Danny wakes up he don't see me like this. After all the years I was hurt, and mad at him I go and jump in bed with him the 1st dam night. I am a fucken w***e. 

I hear my cell phone go off again, I walk to it as am pulling up my shorts, I look at the caller ID and it was him, "Oh God he knows." Just play it cool, he is mad at you but just plays it cool.

Mia: "Hello?"

Rafael: "¿Por qué no contestaste el teléfono cuando llamé por primera vez con Mia?" (Spanish for Why did you not pick up the phone when I called the 1st time around Mia?)

Mia: "Lo siento, querida, me levanté tarde para hacer las maletas y me acosté tarde. Lo siento, por favor no te enojes" (Am sorry my dear, I was up late packing and I got to bed late. I'm sorry, please don't be mad)Rafael: "¿Me estás mintiendo Mia? Sabes lo que pasará si descubro que me estás mintiendo, mi pequeña mascota." (You lying to me Mia? You know what will happen if I find out you are lying to me, my little pet.)

Mia: "I'm not Rafael. I'm not lying to you."Rafael: "Good, because I'll hate to hurt that sexy body and face of yours. Now you have 2 more days before you are back on my plane coming back home, I miss your little pet and I need someone to purr to me."

Mia:" Yes sir, I'll be back in 2 days' time."

Rafael: "Good, can't wait to see you my little pet."

With that Rafael got off the phone and without thinking I threw the phone on the bed hitting Danny. 

"Oh, what was that for?" He asked

"Oh Danny, am sorry. I did not mean to do that to you."

"If you mad because I never called you don't need to throw a phone at me." He said laughing

I watch as he got up and out of bed, with nothing on. I turn my body around looking at other things but for him. I did not know what to do. After a good min, Danny walks over and puts his arms around me kissing my neck. I smiled.

"So, why did you thew your phone at me?" He asked

I did not want to tell him, I did not know what to do. Rafael owned me. "Just a little fight that's it." 

"Mia, I know you, I know when you are lying. It was your boyfriend on that phone, I was awake when you talk to him."

Shit.

Shit.

FUCK!

What was I going to tell Danny, *thanks for the good f**k now I have to leave and be a little pet as Rafael likes to call me. Sorry Thanks again.*

"Danny-" He cut me off by putting his hand over my mouth. 

"SSHHH, it's ok love. I'm not letting you go, I lost you 10 years ago, am not going to lose you again."

I don't know what came over me, I started crying, I turn to Danny and pull him to me crying in his shirt. He was rubbing my back trying to get me to stop crying, "Babe, please stop crying I can't talk to you if you are crying like this."

I nodded and start to slow down my crying.

Danny walks us back over to the bed and he sits down and pulls me to his lap. "Mia, talk to me, what is going on?"

I look in his eyes, I can't tell if he just wants to know or if he cares. But I nodded, " Rafael is not my boyfriend, he is more like my boss."

The look Danny just gave me scared the hell out of me. "No, Danny am not a w***e or a slut anything like that, he does not sell me to sleep with people nothing like that."

After saying that Danny nods, "Then why is he your boss?" 

I had to tell him, I had to tell him everything from the time I got out of school to now. I looked down at the floor trying to think of a nice way to say this but nothing came to me, so I looked back up at him, "Yes, Danny I called my dad that day I told you that I loved you, I asked him to send me away and he did. I ran because of you. I was to come back home after 5 years but after 5 years of living in Greek, I loved it there, so I was going to get a job and stay there, but getting a job did not work out, I was about to come back but I ran into one of the girls I was in school with and she was doing drugs." 

I looked down, Danny tried to pull my face up but I moved my head still looking at the floor. "I was so mad at myself because after 5 years of an all-girl school, and having girlfriends and doing things, and living my best life I can I was mad because I was going to end up back home, living where you were, and being 20 and you being 20 I had a feeling you moved on, I was still so deep down in love with you that I started to use. First, it was just weed to making me stop thinking about you, and when that stops working, I moved on to some pills, to get the pain to stop hurting. That worked for a little but then after a month or two it stopped, no weed, no pills can pull you out of my mind Danny."

I looked back up at him and he was crying, he was trying to hold me but I got up, "Please don't cry Danny."

"After I tried all most every drug I could get my hands on, I was out of money and nowhere to live, my dad knew what was going on and I'm thinking he wanted me to kill myself, but my dad told me about this place there that helps teens get off drugs and that they even help pay for the drugs that you did but never can repay." 

I started walking around the room, I was telling Danny everything. Someone needed to know. "When my dad gave me the number I called Rafael and he told me to meet him in a coffee shop. When I did I told him who I was getting the drugs from. He said he will help me get clean and he will repay the money for the drugs. And he did do it."

I stop walking around looking at Danny, I can see he was mad and hurt. "The 1st year of getting clean is what all most killed me, even though I was not doing drugs that long, it was still hard. He was there, he helped me, he even moved me in his place, he said I'm too much of a lady to leave where all the other ones he helps live at. After a little, he and I become friends, will I saw him as a friend. He helps me stay on top of my speaking and he is helping me until one night."

I walked back over to the bed and sat down next to Danny, "When I had my bad dreams I walk over to his room, he let me sleep in his bed, he was more like a brother to me than everything. Until one night I walked in on him having s*x, I try to leave but he stops and walked over to me and asked what was wrong, after I told him my dream and that I wanted to use again he sent me back to my room and told me to go read a book and he was going to be there soon."

I don't know when I started crying but I could not stop. Danny got up and picked me up and laid me on the bed and he got in and pulled me close to him, "Mia, you don't have to tell me. I don't even know if I want to know."

I nodded, "Danny, I-I have to go back, if am not back in 2 days he will come looking for me, am his little pet. I have to go." 

"No, you not going anywhere. He can't hurt you if you don't go back." 

We both stop talking and Danny was rubbing my side of my body with his hand making me fall asleep. Don't know how long I was out when Danny's sister comes walking in the room waking us up. "No, this is too cute!

 she yelled.

I jump up looking at her, my eyes all red, "Mia, have you been crying? Did you two make up? Did you two have s*x?"

I looked at Danny and he was smiling not saying anything, "Um." 

"What do you want sis, we trying to do something." Danny got up looking at his sister

"My said yall need to come down and eat lunch. It's all most time to go." She looked over at me and gave me a nod and walks out the door.

I had forgotten why am back, my mom had passed away and told was the last night I get to see her. Danny gets out of the bed and walks over to the door, "Get ready to go, Mia, you can tell me more about your "boss" later, lets go eat."

I nodded then looked at the bed. 

After eating and getting dress we all got in the King's SUV. Danny and his dad were talking about the business that right now his dad is running but soon Danny will be taken over. I never did know what business they owned. I know when I was a little girl Mister King will come home late and sometimes he had tall men with him that had guns. 

Anna and Peaches were talking about going to the mall after we are done. Peaches were one of my best friends when I lived here. She is like 10 years old than me, she and I loved each other. We stay up late talking about anything and everything. Because of her, I wanted to speak another language and see the world. She has been all over the world she said. 

I was talking to my dad in a text, he wants me to tell the Kings that he has check over a check to pay for everything they have done for my mom. That is funny because his girlfriend told me the other day that my dad is not paying for anything, but I guess Candy did not want him to pay for his wife's funeral. I did tell him that, I told him what his little girlfriend said and he got mad, guess that is why he has sent over the money.

"Um, my dad has check over a check to repay yall for the funeral, he told me to tell yall thank you for taken care of her and me for 25 years." 

"Mia, your dad doesn't need to pay us back, it's ok."

I nodded but did not tell him that, the check be here at the house the time we get back.

I looked at the time it's 2 p.m. and he is going to be calling soon.

Danny had his hand on mine, "Mia, daijōbudayo" (Japanese for Mia it's going to be ok) 

I look over at him and nodded when my phone started to ring. I looked down at it, I did not need to see the caller ID, if I'm away from him he calls about 4 times a day. Just like clockwork. 

I picked up the phone without saying anything.

Rafael: "Mia, Cosa stai facendo? Perché dice che sei in Viaggio?" (Italian for Mia, what are you doing? Why does it say you are on the road?)

Mia, " Al ir al funeral de mi madre, no es necesario que sigas llamándome y controlando cómo estoy, soy una niña grande." (Spanish for ing to my moms funeral, you dont need to keep calling me and checking in on me, am a big girl.) I moved my eyes over to Danny Rafael: "Pequeña mascota, ¿qué te pasa? No me hables así, no olvides que soy tu dueño!" (Little pet what has got into you? You don't talk to me like that, don't forget I own you. )

I pulled the phone away from my ear, Rafael was mad, before I can say anything Danny pulls the phone out of my hand.

Shit.

FUCK!

What the hell, this can't happen. Oh for the love of anything Danny please don't say something that is going to get him worked up. That is one thing Danny does, he says what is on his mind, and he will not hold back. 

Rafael: "Mia?"

Danny: " No, este es Danny. Ya no puedes decirle a Mia qué hacer, la tengo ahora y no irá a ninguna parte. No volverá contigo, no la volverás a llamar y no lo harás y quiero decir que no volverás a ponerle la mano encima." (No, this is Danny. You don't get to tell Mia what to do anymore, I have her now and she is not going any where. She is not going back there with you, you will not call her again and you will not and I mean you will not put a hand on her again.) 

After that Danny hangs up the phone and hands it back to me. He looks at me smiling. I was scared, Danny doesn't know what Rafael can do. Rafael wanted me he will come and get me one way he gets what he wants. 

When we get to the funeral home everyone starts getting out, my phone beeped telling me I had a text. I look down at it and it was from Rafael.

Rafael text: " My little pet, I don't know what you think you are doing but I own you, I get what I want and I want you. You will come back home with me."

With him? What does that mean, does that mean he is around here somewhere? I start looking around trying to see if he was here.

Danny comes walking up from behind me putting his arm around my body making me yell and jump.

"It's ok Mia, it's just me. Let's get in." He kisses the top of my head and we walk in, My eyes keep moving trying to see everything just to make sure.
