She stretched out on the comfy bed, a contented yawn escaping her lips as she blinked and embraced the morning breeze.
The scent in the room was different, she rubbed her eyes and itched her scalp
Remembering how she got into the room, her head was banging
It was her first night at Asher’s mansion
He teased me, what a jerk
She smiled

Girl control yourself she yanked out of that thought and got into the bathroom
She came out drying herself properly and her gaze dropped at the pretty dress on the bed
Hmph a cute dress huh, if I didn’t know any better I’d say he’s falling in love already.
She got dressed and walked out of the room towards the kitchen to prepare breakfast for herself

The maid just smiled and directed her to the dining room where Antonio was sitting, sipping his coffee

I can help with that as she walked towards him reaching for his tie.
He stopped her immediately

We’ll be leaving for the hospital in less than 10 minutes, he stated ignoring her advances to help.
10mins!!! She said almost screaming
She quickly sat down and started stuffing her face amidst choking
What are we going to the hospital for anyway, probably wants me to run some tests for infections and all uggh she thought to herself sending him death glares.
She couldn’t remember the last time she had a proper breakfast
She always had to miss breakfast and rush to work just to avoid provoking that wretch of a boss
A smile of gratitude betrayed her as she kept munching.
Hey! Slow down or you wouldn’t be able to make it to the hospital at all, Antonio said trying not to laugh as her cheeks were already filled and she looked like a hamster.
The hospital
Dr Smith's pov
Good day Mr Antonio, please follow me
The doctor directed them to his office and offered him a seat while urging Lucy to lie on the bed in his office so he could run some tests
He got her blood samples and a urine sample.
Sir the results will be ready by next week, and everything you requested in detail
I would let you know if it would be necessary to bring her by next week too, he said
No problem doctor, thank you for your help
We’ll be on our way he said urging her out to the car

What is it, he responded coldly not looking in her direction
I want to visit my mom and check how she’s doing please
“A guard will take you to her tomorrow and bring you back “he stated.

I’m trying so hard to clear your bills and once that’s done you’ll be strong enough to come home with me.
I miss you so so much she said, planting a kiss on her mom's forehead.
She stood up to leave and bumped into her dad
What are you doing here Dad? She asked already feeling agitated.
I thought you wanted nothing to do with us anymore
Lucy’s father crashed down to his knees begging her to forgive him

You’re drunk, why don’t you go back to what matters to you most huh
“You abandoned us when we needed you and you think I’d just welcome you into open arms” she snapped.
She faced the nurse who was close by and instructed him not to go anywhere near her mom and stormed out.
Asher’s mansion
Lucy stormed into her room and crashed on her bed sobbing
Wishing everything could go back to normal
A knock came on the door..
Please go away, she replied
But the intruder ignored and walked into the room
What’s wrong Lucy, his voice laced with worry
She looked up at him and found herself hugging him
Surprisingly he didn’t push her off
Shhh everything’s going to be ok, he comforted and laid her to sleep
He watched over her, playing with the strands of hair that danced on her face
He got lost staring at her and suddenly felt the urge to protect her by all means
His phone rang and he stepped out to take the call
Sir, a voice from the other end of the line called out
The Giovannis have requested a meeting to discuss business about the future, he suggests that you should meet up in two days as he will be throwing a party for his grandson.
No problem, make arrangements for our journey
We leave by tomorrow

Also, prepare a dress for Miss Lucy
She would be joining the party.
