It had been late last night when I finally felt Jake slip into bed. Cameron had taken the news better than I expected, but he had asked me to leave for the night after I explained everything. He said he wanted time to think, and it would be distracting if I was there, just waiting for his answer. I wanted to respect his wishes, so I had kissed him goodnight and left.
I waited in the empty room across the hall until I saw Jake arrive, not wanting to leave Cam completely alone.
