It had taken four arguments with Jake and Lexi, two shouting matches with Leah, and one last-minute examination from the pack doctor, but I was finally permitted to accompany everyone else on our mission to rescue Murphy. Cooper still wasn't awake yet, and no one was thrilled about letting me go with them while I was still wolf-less. Jake and Lexi were concerned that I wasn't healthy enough yet to fight in my human form, but Burke, the doctor, had cleared me. I may or may not have used my Beta tone to order him to say I was fine, but that was between me and the doc. He’d forgive me. Even if he looked pretty furious at the time.
