I wasn’t happy. The council had responded to my request, finally, but it wasn’t the answer I had wanted. They weren’t coming to investigate Black Moon or Red Ridge. Instead, they were requesting more information from us first.
That was the thing all the fairy tales and fictional werewolf-vampire romance novels left out: there was every bit as much bureaucracy and red tape in the supernatural world as there was in regular human society.
