Scene: Later That Night – Isabella Returns Home
Isabella stepped out of the car, exhausted from a long day at the office. She walked through the quiet hallway, passing the stairs when she heard voices upstairs—Angela’s room.
She paused. Something in the tone caught her attention. Curiosity took over, and she moved silently toward the slightly ajar door.
Inside, Nathan stood near the window, looking confused.
"Angela, I really don't think I should be here—" Nathan began.
Angela stepped closer, eyes teary, voice soft and trembling. “Please, Nathan. You're the only one I can talk to. Everything’s falling apart. I'm scared.”
Nathan looked uncomfortable, glancing toward the door. “Angela, whatever this is, it’s not right. I came because you said it was urgent.”
Mrs. Roland’s voice came from the other side of the room. “Nathan, she needs someone right now. And you’ve always been good at comforting lost girls, haven’t you?”
Angela gave a soft laugh. “Like Isabella.”
Nathan stiffened. “Don’t bring her into this.”
Angela walked closer. “Why? Are you afraid she’ll find out you’re here with me?”
Nathan’s eyes flashed. “I don’t play these games, Angela.”
But that was all Isabella needed to hear.
She turned, pain stabbing her chest like ice. She had heard enough—Angela’s words, her tone, Nathan’s presence in that room. It was all too much. Her heart pounded, her breath caught.
He lied to me. He said he cared.
She stormed off, wiping the tear that slipped down her cheek. She didn’t wait to hear the rest.

Nathan moved toward the door. “I’m leaving. Don’t ever call me like this again.”
Angela grabbed his arm, forcing tears into her eyes. “Please don’t go—”
“Let go,” Nathan snapped, pulling free.
He opened the door and found Mrs. Roland already by it, her smile tight. “Be careful, Nathan. You wouldn’t want people to misunderstand.”
Nathan glared at both of them before storming out.

Scene: Isabella’s Room
Isabella sat on the edge of her bed, her eyes blank, the echo of Angela’s voice replaying in her mind.
You're afraid she'll find out you’re here with me…
She laughed bitterly to herself. “I was stupid to believe you were different, Nathan.”
She got up, walked to her drawer, and took out a box containing the only photo of her and Nathan from five years ago.
Without hesitation, she tore it in half.
Scene: Marcus Enterprises – Parking Lot, The Next Morning
The morning sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows across the parking lot of Marcus Enterprises. Isabella slammed her car door shut, her jaw clenched, the pain of the night before still raw in her chest. She hadn’t slept—her mind plagued by images of Nathan and Angela.
She adjusted her sunglasses, trying to compose herself. But before she could head toward the building, a familiar voice stopped her cold.
“Isabella!”
She turned sharply to see Nathan jogging toward her, his face lit up with a hopeful smile—one that made her blood boil.
He slowed as he got closer, sensing something off in her energy. “Hey… I was going to stop by your office. I didn’t hear from you last night—”
“You really shouldn’t be here,” she snapped, her voice sharp and cold.
Nathan blinked, confused. “What? Why?”
She stepped forward, anger seething beneath her calm exterior. “You think I wouldn’t find out? That I wouldn’t hear the conversation you had with Angela?”
Nathan’s brows furrowed. “What are you talking about?”
“I heard everything, Nathan!” she said, louder now. “The way she threw herself at you—and you just stood there!”
His eyes widened. “Isabella, it wasn’t like that. She tricked me into coming—”
“Oh, spare me the excuses,” she cut him off bitterly. “You’re just like your brother, aren’t you? Playing both sides. Did it feel good—having both sisters wrapped around your finger?”
The words hit Nathan like a slap. “No! That’s not what happened. Angela—she set it up. I swear I never—”
“You think I care?” she spat, her voice trembling. “I trusted you, Nathan. I was finally starting to believe in someone again.”
Unbeknownst to them, across the street behind a tinted car window, a paparazzi camera clicked silently, zooming in and snapping photos—video already rolling. The emotional confrontation between the heiress of Marcus Enterprises and the Maxwell heir? Headline gold.
Back in the parking lot, Isabella shook her head, disgusted. “Stay away from me. I mean it.”
She stormed off toward the building, leaving Nathan frozen in place, guilt and confusion washing over him.
