Together.

Isabella and Nathan sat together, their hands intertwined, a quiet sense of relief finally settling over them after weeks of turmoil. They were at the private meeting room of their newly established office, away from the prying eyes of the media and their enemies. Mercy and Kelvin had joined them, and the mood was more relaxed than it had been in a long while. The conference meeting had ended in chaos, and the alliance between the two families had crumbled. The footage from Kelvin's leak had exposed Mr. Roland's illegal dealings, and the consequences were far-reaching. But now, with their plan successfully executed, it was time for the next step. "I can't believe everything we've been through to get here," Isabella murmured, her gaze flickering to Nathan, who gave her a soft smile in return. "I know," Nathan replied, his thumb gently caressing her hand. "But we still have a long way to go. This isn't over, not yet. We need to be ready for whatever comes next." Mercy, sitting across from them, nodded in agreement. "But today was a victory," she added. "A big one. We can breathe for now, but we must stay vigilant." Kelvin, who had been mostly silent up until this point, chimed in. "We have the upper hand for now. But we should keep pushing forward—make sure Mr. Roland doesn't get the chance to rebuild his empire." "Exactly," Nathan said. "The key now is to remain united. We can’t afford to let anything divide us." He glanced at Isabella, his gaze softening. "And we need to keep this momentum going. We have a chance to take back what’s ours—and then some." Isabella gave a small nod. "I agree. We can't let them take everything we've worked for. I know that we're not just fighting for our companies, but for our future—for the life we're going to build together." Mercy smiled, though there was still a trace of doubt in her eyes. She had been with them through thick and thin, and while she now worked alongside them, there was still a part of her that felt guilty about the role she had once played in all of this. "Is there any news on the family?" Isabella asked, changing the subject as she leaned forward. "How are Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell?" Kelvin's face darkened slightly. "They're still in a coma. The doctors are unsure if they'll wake up, but they're doing their best to keep them stable." "That’s all we can hope for," Nathan said, his voice steady but filled with concern. "We’ll make sure they’re taken care of, no matter what happens." Isabella squeezed his hand, her expression softening. "We will get through this. Together." Mercy smiled faintly at the couple before speaking up. "We all will." For a moment, the room was silent as they all sat back, letting the weight of everything that had happened sink in. It had been a battle—one they had won, but the war was far from over. There were still enemies to face, still betrayals to uncover, and still more hurdles to overcome. But as the night stretched on and they discussed their next steps, one thing was clear: they weren’t backing down. They had come too far to stop now. And as they raised their glasses in celebration, they knew that the real fight was just beginning. As the laughter and toasts slowly faded, Kelvin glanced at Mercy and subtly nodded toward the door. Kelvin said, “We should give them some space.” Mercy nodded, understanding. “Yeah, they need this moment.” Isabella looked at them, a warm smile on her face. “Thank you both—for everything.” Nathan added, “We couldn’t have pulled this off without you.” Mercy gave them a small smile, though her eyes didn’t carry the same light. “We’re in this together. Always.” Kelvin opened the door and motioned for her to go first. Once outside, they walked down the corridor in silence, the sound of their footsteps echoing slightly. When they reached the balcony, Kelvin suddenly stopped and turned to her. Kelvin said, “Mercy… how long are you going to keep doing this?” She blinked at him, startled. “What do you mean?” “I saw you,” Kelvin said, his voice low but firm. “You were on the phone earlier. You thought no one noticed, but I did. You were talking to Mr. Roland again, weren’t you?” Mercy’s lips parted, her expression conflicted. “Kelvin—” “You said you were done with him. You said you wouldn’t lie anymore. So, why?” Tears welled up in her eyes as she turned away, gripping the balcony railing tightly. “Because I don’t have a choice!” Kelvin’s brow furrowed. “What are you talking about?” She took a deep breath, her voice trembling. “My little brother… he’s in a coma. He’s been in the hospital for months now. The treatments are expensive, and I— I couldn’t afford them. Mr. Roland promised to cover everything… but only if I stayed close to Isabella.” Kelvin stepped back, stunned. “So he’s using your brother as leverage?” Mercy nodded, tears now streaming down her face. “I never told him anything important, Kelvin. I swear! I couldn’t… not after everything Isabella has done for me. She gave me a home, a family… but my brother… he’s all I have left. I can’t let him die.” Kelvin’s expression softened slightly as he watched her break down. He stepped forward and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. Kelvin said, “Mercy… I get it. I do. But we have to find another way. Mr. Roland will use this until he completely breaks you. And if he finds out you’ve turned against him… your brother might not be safe either.” She looked up at him, eyes wide and full of pain. “What do I do, Kelvin? What do I do?” He held her gaze. “You tell Isabella the truth. All of it. We protect your brother our way. No more secrets. If we stick together, we can beat Roland and still save your brother.” Mercy wiped her tears, her breath shaky. “Okay. Okay… I’ll do it. I’ll tell her everything.” Kelvin gave a small nod. “Good. You're not alone in this anymore.” And with that, the two stood side by side, staring out into the night—knowing the road ahead was dangerous, but this time, they were ready to face it… together.
