"I appreciate your offer, Aaron, but I don't think it's a good idea right now," I replied, trying to gently decline his invitation. "There's still so much going on, and I need to focus on finding evidence against Xavier and Elena. Going on a date might distract me from what's really important."
Aaron looked slightly disappointed but didn't give up. "I understand that you have a lot on your mind, but I genuinely want to support you in any way I can," he insisted. "A date doesn't have to be anything overwhelming or serious. It could be a chance for us to spend some time together, relax, and take a break from all the stress."
"I promise I won't let anything happen to you, and we can keep it low-key, just to take your mind off things for a little while."
