Chapter 3: Fairies and Human Friends

Kel and Blaze went on to their stations. The rest, meet everyone at the locker room. "Hi, guys!" Summer excitedly said. "Hiii, Summer! We missed you!" Winter, Snow, Autumn, Ice, and Rain group hugged her. River was smiling just watching them. He's happy that Summer's back with the pack. Everyone was happy to see her back. "It's been days that we were not seeing you. Comment avez-vous été? (read as: komo ave vuete)," Winter asked how have you been in French. "Oh don't worry. Je vais bien (read as: ji-vey-bian)," Summer smiles saying I'm fine in French. "Something changed about you. You seemed blooming and you're so bright," Rain suspiciously said stepping forward to her with his face an inch distance from Summer's face. She giggles awkwardly. "Hahaha! Well, I ah...erm...I was doing a special training and it was successful. That's what," she said shyly. "Serious?" Rain asked suspiciously moving away slowly narrowing his eyes at Summer. "You look like a sky left by the dark clouds under the sunlight," Ice added exaggeratedly. "C'mon, guys! Summer just got back and she looks stunning because she was born that way. Okay?" Winter cut off. Summer smiles and slowly gets to her locker and took off her suit and fixed herself.

Everyone teleported from Lhanfeen's front gate to outside of Kheilev's restaurant. They get inside and ordered lots of food and platters. They paid for their orders and choose their sits to wait for their orders. A minute later, giant lobsters, giant crabs, giant clams, grilled fish, pork chops, chicken roast, salad, and lots of rice were served on their big table. "Wow! It looks delicious!" Snow exclaims. "It looks fancy!" Autumn added. "Dig in!" Nick said. "Itadakimasu! (read as: itadakimas)" all of them said "thank you for the food" in Japanese with their two hands together on their chest, and their eyes closed. They started to dig in after. "By the way, Nick, Bexley was looking for you. We didn't know where you were so we said we don't know," Rain said while putting a giant lobster on his plate. "What does she want?" Nick said using his magic ability to pick up one giant crab from the other end of the table and put it on his plate. "Maybe she misses you," Summer teased Nick and she grins at him. "No way," Nick said defensively. Everyone chuckles at his reaction. "She's the modest creature that I have ever seen. There's no way she could miss me," he added. "And also the loudest one, you said," Bexley said from behind them. They were surprised. "Oh! Hi, Bexley! Hi, Armelle!" Summer said smiling at the two fae women. "Hi, guys! Come on. Dig in with us!" everyone excitedly called the two. "Sure! Thanks!" The two said and sit with them.

Everyone was enjoying eating and filling each other about their own has been life the past days that they were not together. "Anyways, Taquio Tournament is coming. We were almost done with the suit of their Majesties, and we want to do yours next. That's why I was looking for you. Not that I missed you," Bexley said pointing at Nick. "What?" Nick asked innocently. Gorka and Quinn chuckled. "But you were the shyest person I said," he defended. "While calling me the loudest in front of the kids," she said. Everyone chuckles. "Anyways, meet me at the palace tomorrow. You already know our stations in there. Okay?" she asked. "Oui!" answers everyone. They continue eating.

In every celebration of the Taquio Tournament, Bexley's team always prepares their suits for the tournament. All of them wear the same kind of suit and it was so beautiful. Everyone liked it so much. This has been the tradition in their circle yearly. Summer and her friends first met Bexley and Armelle when they were only ten years old. When Nick, Gorka, and Quinn were giving them advance training, Bexley and Armelle came. They were both excited to have human kids in Pharrhiio and wanted to be friends with them forever. Nick interrupted them from squeezing all of them one after another because he said that they were on training currently. Bexley was mad and started a ruckus fight. Bexley slugs Nick a weak electric volt from her lightning power. Nick was surprised and laughed amusingly at her, threw her the same weak lightning magic. They started to get strong. The kids ran down the hill to hide from the frightening magic powers. On their way down, a group of pikaku beasts suddenly appeared on their way. They all screamed in shock. Bexley and Nick suddenly appeared and defended them worriedly. Bexley conjured a strong lightning ball on her hands. Nick quickly teleported her far from the kids and Bexley's power was thrown somewhere without any creature. They were back after a minute. "I'm so sorry, kids. I thought you were giant monsters harming these cute human kids. I'm sorry," Bexley apologized shaking the small beasts' hands one by one. The young beasts nodded shakily. Summer and her friends felt sorry for the young beasts and find them friendly. They asked them to train with them and they agreed happily. From then on, if Bexley and Nick were fighting they would just let them. They were their parents in the fairy world after all. The pikaku beasts were still their friends and even seeing each other sometimes in the academy. All of them were now a student in Lhandefeen, the only thing, the pikaku beasts were late of one year from Summer and her friends because they were younger. 

 "I'm so full!" Summer exclaims rubbing her stomach. "Hahaha!" Nick laughs at her. "I told you you'd gonna need so much strength in your training and after you get drained you'd be sleeping two days again and lots of meals," he said his eyes beaming in happiness. "What kind of training would drain my girl, Nick?" Bexley asked suspiciously. "Uhm..." Summer was supposed to answer but Bexley gestures her to stop and pointed at Nick staring at him with her eyes sharp. "What?" Nick asked awkwardly scratching the back of his head. "Well, It was supposed to be Summer's decision to tell. After all, she just woke up yesterday from passing out at the mission. She was asleep for two days," Nick explained. "She fell asleep in two days? How didn't we know about it? We're sorry, kids. Your mothers have been neglecting their motherly duty to all of you," Armelle said with a sad face. "It's okay. We were outnumbered. It was fourteen huge orcs with wind magic element and we were only four. Besides, this Azmondius was really strong. He was as strong as those other orcs combined. I shouldn't force myself to defeat him but I'm happy I defeated him," Summer explained while everyone fell silent listening to her. "You were outnumbered and they were powerful and strong, yet your team defeated him, and you defeated this Azmondius orc. That's nothing to be sorry about, mon cher," Bexley said. "Yeah. We're proud of you but uh...be a little not too stubborn next time, okay?" Armelle said. "Je suis désolé (read as: je swi de so le ), Summer said "I'm sorry" in French. "But my core now is open and I can even control it. I already learned how to conjure other magic elements," she said excitedly while everyone was shocked at what she said. "Your core has opened already!?" all of her friends exclaimed at once. "Yyyeah!" she timidly answered. "Whoah! I can't believe it! We were just all dreaming about it for like six years and now you've made it! I'm happy for you!" Winter happily said and hugged Summer. "We're happy for you, Summer," all of her other friends said. "Was that the reason why you didn't show up for days?" Ice asked. "Voonz Nick said that I was asleep for two days and just woke up yesterday. He said that I need my core to be controlled immediately or it will burn me alive so I did and it was not easy at first. My chest was burning me inside and my temperature was so hot and then I conjured a blue fire whirlwind around me and a blue fireball on my palms," she explained. 

"Summer's core was stubborn. It was always ready to go. She's been hurting since she woke up and look at this. This is the reason why she needed proper training to control it or she'll burn the entire academy," Nick shows everyone Summer's IST. The video shows Summer's core power wrapped her heart and was opening along with the beating of her heart. "Wooow!" her friends exclaimed. Your core was blue?" Snow said. "Yeah, sort of," she answered. "That's why her wings were also blue," River added. "Really!? You have wings!? Can we see it?" all of her friends asked in chorus. She laughed at their reactions. "Hahaha! Okay. Outside," she said.

They all intended to walk back to the academy to see Summer's wings. Far from the crowded area, with her back in front of everyone so that they could see how her wings come out, Summer let her wings emerge on her back. Blue beautiful wings came out taller than her. "Wooow! Hahaha!" all of her friends were amazed seeing how her wings came out, how big it is, and how beautiful it is. Bexley smiles adorably. Armelle clapped her hands. Nick, Quinn, and Gorka were proud of their daughter's beauty. Summer fly round and round ten feet above the ground to show how her wings flap.

"That's two beautiful wings I see," Rain said in amazement looking up at Summer. "Yeah. Me' too. I can't believe Summer would be so beautiful like that," Ice added. River was blushing at the corner watching how beautiful Summer is right now. "She's so beautiful," Armelle whispers. Bexley smiles. "I'm proud of our daughter. That's their dream," she said in a soft voice. "Now look at you. Why are you so red? Is it hot in here or your sister's hot?" Nick put his arms on River's shoulder and strangles him a bit. River was flustered. "C'mon, Nick. Stop it," he said frowning trying to get off from Nick's arm. "Hahaha!" he just laughed at him and won't let him go.

A few minutes later, Summer landed already. She turned her back to everyone and shows them how her wings disappear. Her blue wings slowly faded and it was gone. "Yey!" Snow, Winter, and Autumn exclaimed. "That's beautiful, Summer. I'm so happy for you," Winter said excitedly and hugged her tight. She laughed and hugged her back. Snow and Autumn group hug with them. "You're beautiful and we're so proud of you blooming so beautifully," Armelle said. "Thank you, mothers," she said happily and hug them both.

They went back to Lhandefeen afterward. "Okay, kids. Your mothers will separate now. Be good with your studies, okay?" Armelle said and kissed all of them. Bexley did the same. "And I'm proud of you, mon cher," she said to Summer. "Merci, mother," Summer said. "I'm happy for you. But remember, magic stained with darkness is dull. The true meaning of magic is happiness," Bexley said and Summer said it along with her. "Yes, mother," she said to Bexley. This line was always what everyone teaches at Lhandefeen that's why all of them know it. "Bye, guys!" all of them bid goodbye to their "parents" to go to their lockers. "Bye!" the two fae women answered smiling at them.

"Take care of the kids. They have been eating strangely. They eat a lot like even triple of their normal appetite," Bexley said to the voonzes. "You recognized that, too," Nick said looking at their kids going inside the academy. "We thought about that, too. They have been complaining of how their strength was being drained whenever they use the magic of their necklaces. They said that it was not even their own," Gorka said. "I was thinking that Summer was just the start of it all and their core power is just waiting for the right time to awaken," Quinn added. Bexley and Armelle nod. "We thought so too. They're hilarious," Bexley said and laughed. Armelle laughed too. "They looked like they haven't eaten for days," she said and they all laugh. "Yeah. I agree to that," Bexley said. "Summer's power though was incredible. Her core power just opened and she's able to control four elements considering her charm necklace is now not the source of her wind magic. It's very rare for a creature to have four controlled elements. Could she make it five?" Bexley asked. "We were thinking about that, too. Oleander can control all six elements. Summer was as brave as him and also have that stubborn attitude due to decisiveness. In fact, they have so much in common. Summer didn't mess up during her training earlier and that's how Oleander was as organized," Nick said. "You think she could be as strong as Oleander?" Armelle asked. "All of us," Quinn answered. "Count us in," Bexley said. "We'll go ahead now. We had fun with news about the kids. We're busy but it was fun sneaking out of the palace to meet the kids," Bexley said. "Yeah. Me, too." Armelle added.

After Bexley and Armelle were gone, the three voonzes went back to the training chamber to continue Summer's training. As they were expecting it, Summer was able to conjure all of the six magic elements just like her great-grandfather. They have seen how happy Summer was being able to control six elements. Nick knows already what to do next to her. "So that's the end of our training today. Next meeting, we are going to fight at the battleground. I want you to be tactical and clever because I am going to use several magic elements varying in the battle. That way you can hone your battle thinking skills and power techniques. Okay?" he explains deliberately. "Oui, monsieur!" Summer answered. They all retreat to go home.

It's weekend the next day and so everyone doesn't have classes. Summer just woke up late in the morning and she feels hungry. She wants to eat with her friends because she hasn't seen them in a while, just yesterday. Half-asleep, she calls everyone using her watch. She clicked all of her friends' images at her contacts on the hologram screen on top of her watch. All of them answered half-asleep. "Hey, guys. I just woke up and hungry. I was thinking of eating breakfast with you in our pajamas at Kheilev's," she said half-asleep in a bit husky voice since she just woke up. "Sure. I was thinking of the same thing actually when I woke up three hours ago and then I fell asleep again after an hour," River said also half-asleep. "Okay. Rise and shine guys. We still have stomachs to fill. Let's go out in our pajamas," Snow said with her eyes still closed. "C'mon up, guys!" Winter gets up first energetically. Everyone followed her. They fixed their hair and their crumpled pajamas, check themselves in the mirror, and they were good to go.

They met outside of their rooms. "Hi, guys! Good morning!" Summer greets her friends. Good morning, guys!" everyone greets her and everyone. They started to head on. "Do you, guys, think we can call voonzes and our mothers?" Summer asked. "I don't think so. Bexley and Armelle were busy. For sure they have so much ahead plus sleep at this hour. Nick and the rest would probably in the depth of their sleep at this rate. They were exhausted yesterday. I've seen them how they used their power to support you," River explained. "Oh, yeah. I didn't think about that. They were using a sealing their sealing stamp just laying around me in case that I explode according to voonz Nick. That was pretty tiring," she said. "Yeah. They were so cool though. I've always wanted to be as strong and as powerful as Nick. I've never seen anyone as cool as him," River said. "Summer's wings are cool!" Winter bragged. "Yeah! She's beautiful with her wings and suit. She's more than ML characters that I have known," Ice added. "Wow! Such high praise from the ML expert Ice Maddox! Thank you!" Summer said blushing. She put her arms around Ice's one arm and walk along with him. Ice smiles at her.

They reached Kheilev's restaurant between talks and laughter along the way. It's already mid morning and the place was already a bit crowded. "Good morning, Arth! Good morning, Liv! Where's Kheilev and Lena?" Summer greets Kheilev's sons. "Good, morning, Summer! Good morning, everyone! Uhm....father and mother were still asleep. They took the night shift yesterday and they just went to sleep five hours ago," Liv said. "But we saw them here yesterday lunch. For sure they were the ones who opened the store early morning," Winter said. "Yeah. Kind of. They took the straight shift," Arth answered. "Wow! That's exhausting!" Snow said amazed. "Well, they are one strong faes, I guess," Arth said and laughed timidly. "So, what's your order, ma'am and sirs?" Liv asked. "Well, we want something hot soup for breakfast. What do you think, guys?"  Summer asked her friends. "Well, we want some French soup noodles, Japanese ramen, and Korean spicy noodle soup to wake us up and fill our empty stomach," Winter exclaims excitedly. "Hmmm...smells good for me!" Ice exclaimed, his stomach's rumbling. His friends and Kheilev's son laughed at his stomach's sounds. "My stomach's excited! Sorry, about that, guys," he grins. They paid for their orders and they choose their place to sit.

Arth, Liv and their crew served the orders to Summer and her friends' table. They preheat the soup on the giant pot and put all of the ingredients on the table. They put seven big bowls in front of each of them. "Wow! It smells good!" Summer said excitedly. "Thank you, Arth! Thank you, Liv!" Winter said. The two server smiles and leave. "Okay!" Summer said and put his palms together on her chest and closed her eyes. Her friends saw her and followed her. "Itadakimasu! (read as: itadakimas)," they said in chorus and started to dig in.

"It's so delicious! Kheilev's recipes are heaven's glory," Ice said raising his two hands holding a spoon and fork. "Yeah! Cheers to that!" Summer said raising her glass of water. Everyone get their own glass of water and raised it to each other's direction, "Cheeeers!!!" they screamed together and laughed at once. Arth and Liv looked at them and laughed along. They were used to this group having fun together everytime they eat at their restaurant.

"We didn't know that there is party going on here!" Nick suddenly appeared at the restaurant in pajamas. "Nick!" all of them screamed excitedly and they ran to him and the girls gave the voonzes hugs. "Why didn't anyone invited us? You all look like drunk now with those waters raised earlier," he said teasing them. They laughed to what he said. They all sit on the table. "We're actually enjoying our weekend and we're starving as always" Winter explained. They all started eating along with the voonzes. "Hmm... who's idea to order noodle soup at this hour? It's very refreshing! I feel awake now!" Quinn exclaims after eating korean spicy noodle soup. His face was all red. "It was our idea! We were all hungry and sleepy when we woke up and we even dragged our feet here. Delicious, right?" Snow said. Quinn gave her a thumbs up while slurping long noodles on his mouth. "You, kids, are amazing! You always makes me surprised," Gorka said. "Yeah! Me, too," Nick agreed. "We actually thought of inviting you but we thought that you were exhausted because of Summer's training and maybe you were still asleep because we were half asleep when we get here," Winter explained. "Well, we were starving when we woke up so we decided to come here in pajamas," Nick explained. "Us, too!" Autumn exclaimed. "We look cute in pajamas!" she added and grins. "You're cute, too," Quinn said and pat Autumn's head.

They finished eating and they went on ahead. "Bye, Arth! Bye, Liv!" they all said goodbye to the two sons of Kheilev. "Bye. Come again," the two replied and waved at them. They waved back.

"Do you, guys, want to watch the city at the hillside? The sun is up and we will see every detail of the city," Summer said excitedly. "Let's go!" everyone agreed and just like that they all disappeared into the street.

Not long after, they all teleported at the hillside. Some of them sit down on the grass and some stayed standing. This is where they were always staying for their training with the three voonzes and later with Summer's core power training. They watch the beautiful city and they couldn't get enough of it. They can see the mountains of dwarf city, the forest of pixy city, the busy market of the elf city, the colorful technology buildings of the fae city, and the royal palace in the middle of the four cities. "It is as beautiful as it is. I couldn't get enough of it," Summer said. "I couldn't agree more," River added.

"Okay, kids. We need to prepare now or Bexley would throw a tantrum again later if we were running late," Quinn said. "Okay," they all answered. "Meet us at the palace at Bexley's station, okay?" Nick said. "Oui!" they answered. They all teleported back to the dorm before the voonzes.

They all had a quick shower and suit up their casual suits. They meet each other in the hallway and they teleported at once. All of them appeared in front of the royal palace. They walk from the gate to the throne room. "Bonjour, vos Altesses! (read as: vunju vos Altes)" they greeted the king and queen good morning, your Highnesses in French. They were kneeling in front of the king and queen. They were all kneeling on one knee with their right knuckles on their chest, and their head bowed. They kneel in front of King Aviare and Queen Aoife like a voonz. They are now in their second year of training as a voonz in the beginner class at Lhandefeen and giving respect as a voonz to the king and queen every time they enter their home palace has been a tradition that they were following. "Bonjour aussi! (read as: vunju asi)" greeted the king and queen back to them saying good morning too in French. "You came here for Bexley I presume as it has been the tradition between your circle every Taquio Tournament to meet each other for the preparations," the queen said. "Oui, votre Majeste, (read as: wi votre majeste)" they answered yes, your majesty in French. "I'm happy that you've grown well as a fairy. You are kneeling now in front of the fae king and queen despite being a human, as we all know human is the highest kind of creature despite being not magical. I have high respect for humans like you and I am grateful to have you as my city's voonzes," the king said. "We are humbled by your words, your Majesty. We owe everything in your city for adopting us despite the indifference in us among the fairies who are powerful and strong. Giving respect to you, your Majesties, is our duty and also our way of showing you how thankful we are for you to let us in your beautiful city. We are happy and dignified to be one of the voonzes defending your city, my lord," River detailed. "I couldn't be any more grateful. Thank you, young children," the king said smiling. "You may go now. Thank you," the king added. "We are grateful, your Majesty," River said and all of them bow their head for the last time. They stood up and step back to the exit. It is the duty of everyone to exit the throne room by stepping out backward, that way no one will turn back to the king and queen. It isn't a law but everyone is following it. It has been the tradition inside the throne room.

"Good morning, Bexley!" they greeted Bexley. "Oh hey! I thought none of you will show up. It's a bit late now. Where have you been? Bexley asked suspiciously. They giggles. "We ate breakfast at Kheilev's with voonz Nick, voonz Quinn, and voonz Gorka. We had fun. Then, we decided to watch the city on the hillside," Summer said grinning. "So, Nick dragged you into being late?" Bexley asked suspiciously. "No! I was the one who dragged them into that actually. I missed watching the city. It's beautiful," she said. "Okay. I agree with you since you have been focusing on your training and all of you got a little bit of trouble only your voonzes can possibly understand," Bexley said referring to the changes to the kids that she and Armelle had talked to Nick, Quinn, and Gorka about when they were at Lahndefeen. Funny that the seven teenagers do not know anything but they kept complaining about the changes in them. "Okay, then, line up and we'll start. Summer, c'mere! You go first," Bexley said. They started the body measuring session to finish up their suits.

When they were just kids, their first suit that Bexley made was all white suits. Everyone was staring at them asking if they were the new princesses and princes of the palace. The king answered them in his speech at the tournament. Everyone liked their suits. Every year, all of the creatures were waiting for their new suits. It was how their circle became popular. They were always amazed by how Bexley can create such magical and beautiful suits. Armelle, on the other hand, makes sure that they have good hairstyles that could make everyone who sees them have a second look. They were always being praised at the tournament for their suits and looks. When River won the tournament during their first year at the beginner class, and Summer won in the second year, every girl and guy fairies confess their admiration to both of them praising their looks and suit. Bexley and Armelle were proud of their work telling everyone that they created it. Summer and her friends know how lucky they were for having Bexley, Armelle, and their voonzes around them always.

It was already late in the afternoon when the three voonzes arrived. "Hi, kids! We had some trouble on our way. I guess we won't be able to train you, Summer. We had an emergency. We can't make it today, we're on the run. We'll just show up next time, I guess," Nick explained. "What's up!?" Bexley asked. "We can't stay right now. Maybe next time. Bye, kids! Summer, I'm sorry baby girl. We're busy right now," Nick said. "It's okay. It's fine. Take care," she said. "Take care!" all of them said. "Go home after. Do not wander around, okay? Listen to your father. River, your in-charge. Bye!" Nick said and stepped out already. "Yes, voonz! I'll take care of them!" River yelled so that Nick would hear. "Me, too! I'll help him!" Rain yelled also.

"What's going on? They seemed quite not fine. Wonder what they got on their way here," Bexley said while measuring Snow's waistline. All of them know how their voonzes react to the different kinds of cases they were investigating. This one was some kind of important and urgent.

They were all finished. "Okay, kids. I want you to go straight to your dorms. If you want to eat together pack lunch and dinner at Kheilev's then eat in one of your friend's room. Stay there and hang out together. Your voonzes were worried. You are voonzes now and you know a voonz's heart, right? You understand the danger of your mission. The same as how you wanted to protect everyone you know possibly could be affected, am I right?" Bexley pepped talk to them if ever they wanted to disobey voonz Nick's reminder. Although they never disobeyed anything before because they can understand a voonz's heart at all. "Oui, madame!" they said yes in French. "Okay now, go grab your food and go home safely. You are voonzes now and you know your responsibility," Bexley said reminding them that safety of their own self is their prior responsibility. "Oui! Bye, Bexley. Bye, Armelle!" they bid goodbye and head on out.

They ordered food for lunch and dinner at Kheilev's before going home. They decided to eat in Summer's room and have a sleepover. They set their beds on Summer's room floor and started eating.

"Y'know what, guys, I wonder sometimes how cool the cases Nick, Quinn, and Gorka were investigating. They always seemed preoccupied with that," Summer said while stuffing her mouth with food. "Well, we don't want to break the voonz code here so I don't think they want us to know," River said. "Well, I don't want to either so let's have fun eating these so many foods!" Summer screams. they all enjoy their get together and sleepover. After all, it's still weekend tomorrow. Even if they don't sleep early, it will be fine to wake up late tomorrow.
