Over the next few days, Caleb and Mason turned the rental apartment Olivia had lived in inside out. Two hundred square feet, paint peeling off the walls, and the radiator never came on in winter. There weren't many clothes in the wardrobe, but they were folded neatly. At the very back of the drawer was a photo album. When they opened it, inside were all old photos of Mom and Dad—of her in a white dance dress in the garden, of them holding her while counting stars on the balcony, of them braiding her hair. There were also photos of her, laughing brightly, full of life. These stopped abruptly when she turned twelve. Tucked into the last page of the album was a piece of paper. On it was a crayon drawing she had made at age twelve, depicting five people: Dad, Mom, Caleb, herself, and Maso
