Starla
Absolon’s ship is parked at the far end of the docking bay.
It’s nothing much to look at from the outside, all unpainted metal plating and unbuffed rivets. But the complicated set of biolocks Absolon has to activate to gain access says there’s something interesting inside.
It reminds Starla of her parents’ ship. Starla grew up on the Nanshe — at least, when it was in dock. Then, she’d spend long hours feeding wires with skinny fingers through narrow spaces for her mother or holding metal sheeting in place for her father while he patched up the holes that got punched through their bow with startling regularity. She hadn’t been allowed to go with them on any of their raids.
