Chapter Ten The Agro Grannies were playing at the Doors, so that seemed like a good place to start. A couple of blocks away from Zeplins on Marshall Street, the Doors was a Johannesburg landmark. Everybody who was anybody had a pile of complimentary tickets stashed somewhere, allowing free access on any night of the week. Tonight being Monday, even these weren’t needed. Most clubs were glad to have as many patrons as possible on a Monday night. It was a short walk between the two venues. Even shorter if I stuck to the back alleys that wound their way from one part of town to the next. Those not familiar with Johannesburg might have been cautious about venturing out at all after dark.
