THE DIRT ROAD LEADING to the farm had two checkpoints on it before we even reached the main gate. At each one, a pair of Horsemen approached the vehicle, one of them peering inside while the other stood back and tried to look intimidating. These boys meant business. So this was why my new employer had wanted me to come along in his place. At the main gate, we were waved towards a parking area. Obviously, no cars were allowed inside. We parked and walked back along the ten-foot fence circling the farm. Razor wire ran around the top of the fence, and a trench had been dug a couple of feet around the outside.
