“I AM NOW,” CAME A RUMBLE from somewhere above my head. “But I’d rather not be.” I tilted my neck back to look towards the new voice. A few feet away lay the leather-wrapped form of a horned giant. He was curled in the foetal position, and one arm was wrapped around his head, trying to block out all light and sound. Scattered around him were various bottles, most of them empty, the rest of them nearly empty. The tender moment was gone. Sighing, I slid carefully out from between my neighbours and retrieved my colours from atop the compact hi-fi. Shrugging into them, I saw that there were a few other bodies decorating the room.
