Chapter Twenty-five: Something’s Not Right
The past few days had been a blur.
Rachel tried to convince herself she was just tired—exhausted from juggling work, life, and whatever strange symptoms kept hounding her every morning. The nausea, the headaches, the random cravings, the weird aversion to certain smells—it was all too much. But she kept brushing it off, pushing forward like she always did.
Today, however, she couldn’t avoid it.
She and Nathaniel were meeting a potential investor—Mr. Gregory Smith, a polished gentleman from New York. The meeting was set at a fine dining restaurant, a place with soft jazz in the background and chandeliers that sparkled like diamonds. Everything was elegant and promising.
